Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / Northallerton Records Office
« on: Monday 04 February 08 21:10 GMT (UK)  »
I would be grateful if someone could check this marriage for me-
Elizabeth Oxendale m William Duff,  30 July 1814,  Osmotherley.
My copy of the transcript shows them to have married by licence, but there is no record in Allertonshire Marriage bonds.
I was hoping for a clue as to where William Duff came from originally.

Would you please look at your dissenter's records for any mention of the Clavering family name?
I am particularly looking for a marriage between Thomas Clavering and Elizabeth, pre 1816, but am interested in all Clavering records.

This is a good site for anyone with family in Spennymoor during late 1890's to early 20th Century.
There are photos, census listings and directory entries.
