Lancashire / epilepsy in the early 1900's
« on: Saturday 18 November 06 17:56 GMT (UK)  »
This is a bit of a long shot, but after seeing the previous post I thought I would ask.

Does anyone have information about how Epilepsy was perceived or treated in the early 1900's? I think a distant relative may have had Epilepsy around that time.

Thanks in advance.

Both of my G grandparents on my fathers side come Lathom in Ormskirk.

I've found a Cook St and Cock St, do you think they could be the same place?

Family History Beginners Board / is it worth subscribing?

Hello

Is it worth subscribing to Ancestry.co.uk? Or is it possible to do most of your research elsewhere (or even for free)?

I've used the 1901 Census a couple of times and BMD's, do I need to buy anything else?

Any help would be appreciated.

 :)

Family History Beginners Board / newbie

Just thought I’d say hello.

I’m new here and only started researching our family tree about 6 weeks ago. Me and my wife were inspired by the “Who do you think you are” programme. I went out and bought the software and so far we’ve got back to around the 1820’s.

A few members from this site have already helped us out, which has been a great help. Not sure how far we’ll get back, but it is very interesting finding out new facts about your family.

Armed Forces / only a name
« on: Sunday 12 November 06 19:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

My Grandfather was Francis McNamee born around 1896 in St Helens. My mother tells me he was in the First World War, but doesn’t know any details. How do I start finding that sort of information?

Any help would be appreciated.
