Any help finding birth of gg grandfather Robert Anderson Turnbull born around 1839 Castleton Roxburghshire. On his marriage certificate to Margaret Gunn Polson it shows his mother as Elizabeth Elliot no father named. It shows his name as Robert Anderson Elliot or Turnbull. Any ideas why it would state both names? His mother Elizabeth subsequently married Robert Young  1852 in Oxnam

Census records show George born Pontefract and Smeaton.

Can anybody help with a birth or christening of Dorothy Boulton born about 1777 in Swaledale.
1851 Census shows Dorothy Merrill (nee Boulton) as been born Swaledale Moor.
She married John Merrell 13th November 1797 at St Michael Spurriergate York.
Only thing I can find is on IGI is a Dorothy Bolton christened 10 Sep 1780 Kendal Westmorland. Is this in Swaledale?

Looking for a marriage between William Rolls and Virtue ?.
I have Virtue born Weymouth abt 1781. IGI shows they had at least 3 children Jane Virtue Rolls born 1815 Wyke Rsgis John William born 1818 Wyke Regis and William Henry born 1821 Weymouth.
1841 census shows Virtue living with daughter Jane and son William at Wellington Place Weymouth
1851 Virtue living at 3 Wellington Place Weymouth with Daughter Jane who is now married to Thomas Pitman
1861 still living Wellington Place with daughter Jane
1871 living Franchise Street Weymouth still with daughter Jane and Thomas Pitman.
Any help would be appreciated.

Could anybody help with the birth/baptism of John Merrell born around 1772 York or Dorothy Bolton born around 1777 Swaledale . I have burial of John at Holy Trinity Micklegate York in 1827 aged 55. He married Dorothy Bolton or Boulton 24 Aug 1797 St Michael Spurriergate
I have found Dorothy in 1851 census living with her daughter Jane Pump Yard Micklegate York but have not managed to find either her birth or death.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Or anything on the Merrell family in York.
