The Common Room / Lost Births and Deaths
« on: Thursday 03 February 05 23:09 GMT (UK)  »
My father was born as was his first wife, they both had fathers as shown on their marriage certificate. So why can I, and, 1837 support not find their birth and death details? The 1837 support team offered to help find the known events but had to admit they could not find them. All their names and and ages were correct even the month for my father was provided so why the problems? A search 2 years either side of the dates were made, any similar names searched still zero. Can anyone suggest where I should try next? or can anyone offer any avenues I may try.
If all fails, were there any reports of UFOs around Retford Notts around 1903/4?
Thanks, angler10

Any reference such as cert. no would also help if the entry matches with the above, thanks. angler10

« on: Tuesday 02 November 04 14:16 GMT (UK)  »
Dorothy Pettinger married Myles William Clarke around 1920 she had 1 son and 2 daughters with him. She died around 1934 aged about 33 years old. Nothing is known at present about either family parents. Myles.W. Clarke played football for Sheffied United that is known he also remarried and had 1 daughter and 2 sons. ( I am one of the sons) Any information about Dorothy mainly would be of great help, anything on M.W. would be a bonus. Thanks

Lancashire / Born at Sea in Irish sea bound for UK
« on: Tuesday 02 November 04 14:01 GMT (UK)  »
I'm told my father was born on a ship bound for UK from Ireland. I assume the family landed in Liverpool. Where would I search to find them? if they did land in Liverpool, it was around 1901 +/- 4 yrs. ??? I do not know the names of his M/F only that they lived in Ireland, his father may have been in the British Army but without names I'm unable to trace them. I need my fathers birth certificate to continue on my family tree. Any help Please.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Birth on ship inbound from Ireland
« on: Thursday 30 September 04 22:39 BST (UK)  »
I'm told my father, Myles William Clarke, was born onboard a ship/ferry inbound from Ireland around 1900/02. I do not know which port of landing but assume Liverpool. I do not know his parents names. I need his birth cert to enable me to fill a few holes in our family tree. Can anyone help with a search or suggest where I could try looking, other than the normal places? Any help please?
