Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Alton and Villages Local History Day, 22 October

The bi-annual Local History Day of the Alton and Villages’ Local History Forum will take place on Saturday 22nd October 2016 at the Assembly Rooms in Alton between 10.00am until 3.00pm. The event is FREE and, in the past, has attracted visitors from near and far with over 250 coming last time.
Arranged on tables will be displays, resources, old maps and photographs, and much, much more from Alton and many of the surrounding villages giving an insight into the history of local families and property. The villages who are coming include Froyle, Medstead, Farringdon, East Worldham, Holybourne and Chawton.
There will be old and new books for sale and refreshments will be available. Afterwards one can visit the Curtis Museum nearby.
