Hi

I have found a record which could possibly be my Grandfathers Brother. I have been unable to find a service record. I have a couple of questions: What does it mean by Theatre of War, What does D.C.M mean and where could I go to verify that this is/is not my relative.

Death date         16 Nov 1918
Enlistment           Wood Green

Regiment             Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment)
Battalion             13th
Number                F/1291
Type of Casualty  Died of wounds
Theatre of War    Aldershot
Comments           D.C.M

Thanks for any help

I have recently been told by a relative that my Great Grandfather fought in the Boer War. Are there any websites that can be searched by name.

Hi Everybody

Isn't It a lovely day hope you are all enjoying it.

My grans sister Martha emigrated from England to Canada after she married Joseph Rastall in 1913.
I have found a record of her and her husbands emigration on find my past. From info I have got from other members of the family her husband died shortly after they emigrated. I would just like to know where I go from here to find out anymore about her.

Census and Resource Discussion / ONS Reference Check BEWARE
« on: Friday 18 May 07 15:16 BST (UK)  »
I ordered a marriage certificate online a couple of weeks ago and decided to use the reference check, unfortunatley I put the wrong name in for groom's father. I got an e-mail from them a few days ago saying that the groom's father was different on the certificate so they would not be sending it and they charged me £3 for checking.
So just to warn you all double check your details before you click that mouse
