Tipperary / Historicgraves.com & Shanaran Cemetery
« on: Tuesday 03 November 15 18:06 GMT (UK)  »
Last evening I went through the list of people buried in the Shanaran Cemetery.  I found it is listed as part of the Historicgraves.com project.  I believe that there is a man who has knowledge of the Daly/O'Gorman family that I have posted queries on here and Co Cork.   Does anyone know how you can contact a person via Historicgraves.com?  On Findagrave.com you can register and then contact people.  On Historicgraves.com I could only find a way to register if you wanted to become a transcriber for them.

Tipperary / Parish record for THURLES
« on: Saturday 31 October 15 16:22 GMT (UK)  »
Eily (Eileen) O'GORMAN was bc 1920 in Thurles.   Her father was Maurice O'Gorman.  I have not been able to find any record that indicates what her mother's name was.   She married Patrick Daly in Feb 1941 in Clogheen.   I have his parents info.   Both Eily and Patrick are buried in Shanaran.

I will be most appreciative if anyone can find a record that lists Eily O'Gorman's mother.

Much thanks,  Bettye

Galway / CUNNING HAM FAHEY MURRAY SHIEL
« on: Tuesday 28 July 15 21:35 BST (UK)  »
:D  I now have the marriage record and fathers' names for Michael Murray and Honora Shiel.   Now I need the same for Patrick James Fahey to Anne Cunningham.  Their son is the Martin John Fahey listed below.

I am seeking to find birth and marriage records for these ancestors:
Michael MURRAY  bc 1841  wife Norah (Honora ?) SHIEL bc 1851
This family is listed on the 1901 Galway Census   Aille dist   sub dist Loughrea.
Eldest child is Mary Anne bc 1885 so I suspect that Michael and Nora(h) may have been married abt 1884.  Family was Roman Catholic and all b Galway.

Martin John Fahey was b 2 Oct 1883  Tuam, Galway.  On his Massachusetts USA marriage license (date 27 June 1910) he stated his parents were  Patrick James Fahey and Annie Cunningham.  I do not believe his parents came to the USA.  I would like a marriage date for his parents.

Thank you,  Bettye

CUNNINGHAM surname.   James Cunningham b 2 Jan, 1755 Leith and supposedly died about 1845.  His wife was Marion Wright  bc 1765 and dc 1810.  They supposedly had children born in the Bonnington area of Edinburg.  One was possibly a John Cunningham bc 1795 whose wife was Ellen Taylor.   They also had a son named Andrew Cunningham n 17 Dec.  1806.  He and John removed to Cass Co Illinois, USA  before 1835.

John Cunningham and Ellen Taylor were said to have had these children born in or near Edinburg: Margaret, Jeanette/Janet b 11 Feb 1824,   James,   Archibald,  and Thomas b 6 Oct, 1826.

I am seeking data on any of the above named Cunningham ancestors.

Thank you,  Bettye

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / COULTAS VICKERMAN
« on: Monday 15 June 15 23:44 BST (UK)  »
Robert Coultas married Jane Vickerman  on 23 Nov 1778 in Bridlington, East Riding Yorkshire.  I am seeking birth info for children born to them.  The only one that I have found is a son, Vickerman Coltas/Coultas,  christened on 24 Jan, 1796 in Thwing,  East Riding,  York.  Surely they had other children btw their marriage in 1778 and the son's ch in 1796.

Robert Coultas supposedly b in 1752, York and d 1820 Thwing, York.
Jane Vickerman supposedly ch 1 Dec, 1755  in Thwing, York  father listed as J. Vickerman.

I will be most appreciative of any additional information.   Thanks, Bettye

Lincolnshire / Coultas
« on: Monday 15 June 15 00:47 BST (UK)  »
James Coultas was christened on 17  August, 1787 in Grantham, Lincolnshre.   I cannot find a record that shows who his parents were.   He married Mary Trolley on 3 July,  1813 in South Stoke, Lincolnshire.   Apparently, he lived most of his life in Grantham as he is on the 1841 census and he died there on  11 June, 1862.    A family tree on Ancestry.com shows his parents as Robert Coultas and Jane Vickerman of the Thwing area of Yorkshire, England.  I have serious doubts that they were his parents.

Can anyone recommend where I might find a record that shows the name of the parents of the above James Coultas ?

Thanks,  Bettye

Lincolnshire / TROLLEY
« on: Sunday 14 June 15 01:35 BST (UK)  »
I just typed a query and it got 'timed out' and now I have to type it again.  Drats !
I am trying to determine which of the 2 John Trolley with wife Ann(e)  were the parents of the Mary Trolley that I am researching.  One family resided in South Stoke and the other in Wrawby.   Freereg.org shows this for Mary's marriage:  3 July 1815 in St Mary & St Andrew Church,  Stoke Rockford  to James Coulks of Grantham parish. She was of  Easton Parish. Another record places this marriage on same date/church as occurring in South Stoke.   I have these christening dates for Mary Trolley:  7 April, 1779  South Stoke,   Mary Coy Trolley  22 Oct 1782  South Stoke,  2 Feb 1789 South Stoke,  and  16 May, 1787  Wrawby.

I am leaning to use the christening date of  2 Feb 1789 as I think her husband James Coultas was ch 17 Aug, 1787 in Grantham.

I hope someone with better knowledge of Lincolnshire records can give me guidance on which Mary Trolley to pursue.      Thanks,  Bettye
