Hello.. I have posted an interest in Charles Henry Smith cattle dealer of Gtknollys street Reading. before but with new Members am trying again.
He was my Grandfather, he married Ada Andrews of East Hagbourne Berkshire 1889 coming to Reading from that date. I have a good History of his life in Reading from that date until his death 1929 but WHO ? are his parents. marriage certificate shows only East Hagbourne. his fathers name Charles labourer. any help much appreciated

Hello  I am Ann nee smith. I have been trying since about 1985 with very little success for the parents and family of the Late Charles Henry Smith cattle dealer of rreading Berks.he was married to Ada Andrews of East Hagbourne 1889 as Henry Charles Smith. for reasons unknown he chose to be Charles Henry Smith coming to Reading Berksshirefollowing his marriage, have done as far back as early 1800s for Ada but still no trace of henry charles or charles. his father on the marriage certificate is Charles. so PLEASE is there someone who can help or knows of this family. from 1889 when he came to Reading I have a full history upto 2012 its the before that date ???????

well here I am again.. this time its hunting for anyone who has a link with the following My Aunt was Mabel Smith D.O.B 1904 her parents were charles Henry Smith (cattle dealer( and Ada nee Andrews.
my Aunt Mabel (who always dressed in black and wore a turban style headwear) married an Edgar w Randall (1927) they had 3 children Raymond/Peter and Patricia..they lived most of there life in Gt Knollys street Reading berks u k. I have been given to believe there daughter married an American and went to America. if there is a public tree with any of these names on I would be very iterested.

I am going to see if prehaps if one of my Aunts may hold a clue to her Father Charles Henry Smith..
Ada louisa Smith was born 12 th October 1899 41 Gt Knollys street reading berks uk. I have not been able to find a marriage certificate but have a birth certificate of her first child (?) Betty Joan Fennell. d. o b 1928 fathers name Robert Arthur FENNELL hotel porter address then 51 caversham road Reading.. there was a son XXX he followed my grandfathers proffesion and worked in the cattle market. all the family stayed within that area I had an Aunty May (RANDALL) AN aunty Nellie (DAVIES)All the above persons are no longer alive apart from XXX was alive approx 1995 unknown werabouts.
any help much appreciated

do you have on your tree a charles Henry smith who married Ada Andrewws in St Andrews church East Hagbourne berkshire 1889 if you have would you have details of the Henry charles smith... who from his marriage was always Charles its on childrens birth cert also his death cert 1929  they both came to Reading 1889 he is a cattle dealer and lived at various address in the Gt Knollys st area were the cattle market was. they had 5 children
charles 1901  Ada who became a Fennel.. Nellie who became a Davies...
Mabel who became a Randall and Jack who was my father.
just have never been able to find were Charles smith lived prior to his marriage. unfortunatly only the wording East Hagbourne on there marriage cert.
clues to follow or you have details will be very much appreciated

I am getting desperate... have been looking for a good few years off and on for the address oF where my grandfather(CHARLES HENRY SMITH) lived prior to his marriage. he married in 1889 age 23  to ADA ANDREWS in St Andrews church East Hagbourne Berkshire u k. the address on marriage certificate only shows East Hagbourne. (no home address) I have found  Ada Andrews whose parents were JOSEPH ANDREWS AND ELIZABETH (nee MILLS ) Grandfather then came to Reading berks u k as a cattle dealer.
any help or clues I can follow up will be very much appreciated
