I wonder if anyone can help me find information about the family [Mc]Cann.
The information I have at present is :-

Joan M McCann was born in 1934 in Erpingham, Norfolk. her parents were Selina Rogers and James McCann. They were married in 1932 in Erpingham.  Jame's father was a George McCann.
 The information I am seeking is:

1} Where and when James was born?

2} where and when was George born?

3} who is Jame's mother.

I would appreciate any help as I seem to be going round in circles. Thanks in anticipation

Can anybody help me trace the wife of Edmund Cecil Naftel. Edmund was born in 1884 in Guernsey. His father was John[Jean] Naftel who was married to Julia De La Mere and later to  Mary Mollet the mother of Edmund. I would appreciate any help in finding Edmund's wfe

 Joseph Moores's birth was registered on 12th December 1874 in Pendleton , Lancashire showing his parents as Jane McMurchie and Joseph Moores (Butcher).
He was christened William Joseph Moores McMurchie on 10th January 1875 mother Jane McMurchie.
His mother married Alexander Muldoon in February 1876 and if I have the correct Joseph Moores he married a Sarah Ann Raughton in Nov 1875.
I cannot find any trace of William(Joseph) Moores from the time of his christening until he appears in the IOM 1891 census living with his Grandmother Janet McMurchie.
My request is, does anybody have access to inmates of orphanages around the Pendleton area between 1875 and 1891.Thanks

My Grandfather William Joseph Moores

Born on 3rd November 1874 in Pendleton - his birth certificate reads
Joseph boy Father Joseph Moores mother Jane Moores formerly Mcmurchie ( There is no trace of a marriage cert) Occupation of father butcher registered 1st December 1874.

Record of christening shows his name as William Joseph Moores McMurchie christened 10th Jan 1875 at St Paul's, Paddington, Lancashire.  Mother Jane McMurchie.

He next appears on the 1891 census living in the Isle of Man with his maternal grandmother Janet McMurchie.

In 1895 he marries Margaret Jane Ellison

The certificate shows him as
 William Joseph  Moore - 21 - Batchelor- Mason - living in Douglas and his father William Joseph Moore - Butcher
He continues to live in the Isle of Man until 1913 when he returns to Lancashire where he dies in 1967 and the name on the cert is William Joseph Moores.
I have  funny enough only two problems:-
1. I cannot trace him anywhere on the 1881 census ( his mother marries an Alexander Muldoon in 1876)
2. I cannot trace his father which would help me to continue with the family tree.
If any one can help out there I would be extremely grateful.

Many  months ago I asked for help to track down the mother of William Joseph Moores and to determine where he was born. Just recently I have discovered from his Christening record that a Jane McMurchie was his mother. The christening took place at St Paul's Church at Pendleton ,Salford on 10th January 1875. I thought this would help with finding his birth certificate but to date I cannot track this down. I cannot find William in the 1881 census although Jane appears, but is married to an Alexander Muldoon but with no sign of William.
I am hoping that someone can give me some clues on where to look next as William has vanished from 10th January 1875 and 1891 when he appears in the 1891 Isle of Man census staying with his grandmother.
Please can some help!!!!
