can anyone give me information or direction regarding where someone with this occupation would have been likely to work in 1880 - 1910 and what they would be doing?

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / catherine flaharty
« on: Monday 18 January 10 12:29 GMT (UK)  »

trying to find birth record of Catherine Flaharty and timeline her before her marriage in 1878 to John Hegarty, Merthyr Tydfil.

in censuses she pops up in 1891 (Merthyr), and, I believe, in 1861 (Tredegar, 7yrs) with parents Daniel and Catherine. various ages recorded so dob around 1854-1857 probably Tredegar.

surprisingly can't find her in 1881 census with husband John (b. Ireland). Also can't find parents after 1861.

Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / Stanford Fisher - death record
« on: Monday 01 September 08 21:20 BST (UK)  »
I have been trying to find the death record of Stanford Fisher. In 1851 he was an inmate in Andover workhouse. I think I found him in the 1861 census in Appleshaw aged 69yrs. He lived in Appleshaw with his family in 1841. There is no record of him in 1871 so I am assuming he died between 1861 and 1871. I thought there would be a clear record of his death as the statutory records had begun.

Any ideas re where I am going wrong?

World War Two / last 'brother'
« on: Tuesday 22 January 08 15:25 GMT (UK)  »
Thought I'd keep going. This is the last 'brother' but I don't think this one is in the Blackwatch, Camerons or the A&SH somehow! He may be someone else in the family. If you can help me with the regiment or service perhaps I can give him his proper name.
Grateful thanks for all your help

Thanks for help last time.
This photo is of another family member. Some family dispute re WW1 or WW2. Not much to go on but is likely to be either A&SH (WW1 or WW2), Black Watch (WW2) or Cameron Highlander (WW1) Help appreciated
