Wiltshire / Sutton Family, Yeoman of Grittenham Wilts
« on: Friday 27 August 04 18:03 BST (UK)  »
Please would it be possible for some kind soul to help me? I am trying to research my links with Wiltshire.

My gt grandfather (Roland Tom Sutton), gt gt grandfather (Thomas Sutton)and my gt gt gt grandfather (James Sutton) came from Grittenham in Wiltshire.  It states on the marriage certificate of Thomas who married Susanna Hathway that both Thomas & James were Yeoman of Grittenham.

The marriage took place in the Parish Church in Brinkworth on 13th April 1854. Suanna's father was Richard Hathway (also a Yeoman) and witnesses to the marriage were John & Martha Hathway.

I am trying to find any information relating to this family if possible and would be extremely grateful for any help with this .

Many thanks

I have a marriage certificate of John Burton that wed Clara Warren in the Register Office in the District of Whitechapel in the County of London. This certificate was ordered and found that it does not relate to my line of the family.  I am willing to sell this for £5.00 and will be sent post free to who ever wants it.

The details are as follows:-

This event took place on 22nd July 1903 between John Burton aged 23 years batchelor an Omnibus Coachman, Clara Warren aged 22 years Spinster.

The address given was that of 86 Buxton Street, Mile End, New Town for both of these people.  John Burton was given as the father of the bridegroom who was a Horse Dealer and Clara's father was Frederick Warren who was a Cab Proprietor.  Witnesses to the marriage were William Oulten and I J Griffiths.

Please contact me for further information regarding postal address.
