Cork / William McCarthy.....born 1818 Cork then at 20 sent to Australia for 15 years.

My descendant was born 1818 Cork Ireland.
He was 20 when tried at Central Criminal Court 23/10/1837 London.
His offence was picking pockets, he was a showmakers apprentice - was Protestant and his convict # was 38/933,37
His sentence - 15 years and was sent to Australia on the "Bengal Merchant".
I have details after he arrived, but am looking for something about his birth, and even his family.
On the paperwork from the trial, no mention was given about his parents - any help??? Thank you......Lee
