Antrim / Lookup - James Graham b abt 1796-7 - Glenavy, Antrim
« on: Sunday 15 March 09 13:54 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for any information on James Graham from Glenavy, Antrim, Ireland. B abt 1796-7. Emigrated to Canada on or before 1828. Possible brother Hugh Graham. Hugh and James are listed in the "McCabe List" created Feb 5th 1829. The list is a petition of about 700 Irish immigrants in the vicinity of the Rideau Canal, Ottawa. Ontario, Canada on Feb 5th 1829. The list provides petitionors names, place of origin (usually down to major town or village) and number of male/female in family. Hugh Graham identifies brothers-in-law still in Glenavy, Antrim named Charles McNally and Jacob May. James Graham indicates all family are in Canada. 2 males, 1 female.

Any and all assistance much appreciated. Peter

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Prodger - Shropshire search
« on: Wednesday 01 October 08 17:31 BST (UK)  »
I am interested in identifying the family of an Edward Prodger(s) who was a banker in Ludlow, Shropshire in the 1820's. He fell into bankruptcy in 1824.

I am trying to link a John Prodger b 1820 to a family. The earliest record I have for John is the 1841 census where he is stationed at Carlise Castle, a private soldier of the 23rd reg welch fusiliers. He was stationed in Canada in 1842 and settled there. I have all of the Canadian info. I also have John's regiment # and have looked at available army paylists. The main army documents with family detail no longer exist for the reserve battalion of the 23rd reg.

All help is appreciated.

Thxs Peter

This is a group photo of the Aldridge family. Or so I believe. I can identify the matriarch and patriarch in the image. It is taken either in London Ontario Canada, or from a trip back to England.

Thxs Peter
