Canada Lookup Request / toronto help please
« on: Wednesday 03 November 10 10:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,I have family who emigrated to Canada in 1912, believed to be Toronto.
They are Frank Thomas Foulkes born 1882 in Wales, his wife Lillian born 1884 in Wales and children Lillian May Foulkes born 1904 and Dick Foulkes born 1911.

Frank Thomas Foulkes fought in WW1 in the Canadian army. By trade he was a master mariner. It is believed he was later employed in the harbour master's office at Toronto.

Would it be possible for sks to see if they appear on an electoral roll or similar? I would love to know what happened to them.

Grateful thanks for any help whatsoever.

Completed Census Requests / GovDeathRecordsUK.com
« on: Saturday 31 January 09 00:15 GMT (UK)  »
This site seems to offer a lot for not much money - just a one off payment of about £28. It has a lot more than just death records. Before signing up I would like to ask if anyone has used the site and could give me some feedback. that would be really helpful, thanks a lot.
Also where can I get free access to the 1911 census - is that possible??

The Lighter Side / Which Website?
« on: Thursday 10 April 08 23:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi I think there is a website that you can enter a UK address and it gives the info of who was living in that house at the time of the 1901 census.
Can someone tell me the best site for how I get this info.  Will I have to sign up & pay for it?
Any help appreciated.

World War One / Grandfathers photograph
« on: Thursday 18 October 07 14:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi my grandfather was in WWI and he died many years before I was born.  I have never even seen a photo of him and would dearly love to see one.  As he was in the Army I assume they would have a photo in his records?  Would they let me see it & how on earth do I apply for this?
Maybe an unusual request but it would mean so much to me, advice welcome please.
I am not experienced yet in this but am enjoying my family history research.
