Kent / William Gooding/Sarah Coveney
« on: Tuesday 17 January 12 19:29 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for help regarding the above who are my 2x gr grandparents.  All I know at present is that Sarah was baptised  Aug 1791 in Borden Kent and they married 1 Dec 1810 in Bredgar Kent.  I can't find any birth info for William or death info for either of them.   I have found 8 children for them - the last my gr grandfather John born 1826 in Bredgar.  The surname changed to Goodwin by then.
Any help would be really appreciated.

« on: Wednesday 06 January 10 15:10 GMT (UK)  »
I have been given a wedding photograph  (c 1920 - 30) that was found in my late mother in laws house. Unfortunately no one has any idea of who any of the wedding party are.  The only info on the back is : James Bacon & Sons,81 Northumberland St., Newcastle, Neg.No. 93265G.   Is there any chance this photographer is still there?

Argyllshire / McLucas - Kilfinichen/Kilvickeon Brickwall!
« on: Thursday 05 February 09 11:46 GMT (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can help please?

I am researching my husbands 2xgr grandfather Hugh McLucas , born c 1836.
I have his marriage cert for 1866 showing his age 30yr, his parents as John McLucas (a farmer, deceased) and Christian McIntyre (deceased).

I have found a marriage for John & Christian 29/1/1831 Torosay parish, Kilfinichen/Kilvickeon.   The grooms name seems to read John McLucais Gribun,( - does anyone know what the Gribun means or is for? )  I have found a John/Christian McLucais on 1841/51 in Kilfinichen/Kilvickeon but no mention of Hugh in the family.

I can't find Hugh's birth record, and I can't pick him up on any census until 1881 -   ships carpenter, born Taron Argyll. living in Partick.   On the
1891 - still a ships carpenter in Partick born Argyll, and on 1901 - ships smith in Partick born Kelquiche Argyll.

If anyone can throw any light on this for me I would be very grateful. :D

Durham / Margaret Elmbranch
« on: Tuesday 18 March 08 13:55 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone help me please - I am trying to find Margaret Elmbranch born Sunderland about 1866.  She is on the 1901 census in Tynemouth married to John Wood, but I can't find a marriage for them in Tynemouth or Sunderland.  Elmbranch was her maiden name on 3 daughters  birth certs.
I can't pick her up on any other census - there seems to be only one family with the surname - John Anthony Elmbranch with his first wife Hannah in Hartlepool 1851 & 61, then with 2nd wife Annie Maria in Bristol 1871 (name shows as Elmbrank). I can't seem to connect Margaret with them at all.
Any help would be very welcome.
