Inverness / Gibbards of Inverness
« on: Tuesday 29 November 11 18:22 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the Gibbards, father William Edward was an army man. Originally in the Royal Garrison Artillery, stationed in India, Burma perhaps Gibralter, etc. Settled in Inverness, presumably when his army service finished, and was a Barracks Warden (which is?).
Died about 1971, with perhaps five children (who are they). Trying to find out children's names but need census or voter lists etc. Any details gratefully received, especially William Edward's Army record.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Gibbards in Wanganui, North Island
« on: Tuesday 29 November 11 18:07 GMT (UK)  »
I'm researching the Gibbards in North Island, specifically, near Kai Iwi, Wanganui, Wellington.
I'm trying to trace the offspring of a sheep farmer, Charles Gibbard who married an Ellen Parnell in April 1890. I know they had five children. One of these actually came back to England on a visit in 1954/55, I suspect to visit their parent's english roots. I just need help filling in details, say from censuses etc. Any thing please.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Gibbards and decendants in South Island *COMPLETED*
« on: Monday 25 October 10 15:59 BST (UK)  »
I believe that some relatives of Eliza Gibbard/Carpenter of Chacombe, Banbury, Oxfordshire emigrated to NZ in the early part of the last century. Indeed I have a photograph of their descendants but have no record of them save that they worked on South Island Any information would be gratefully received.

« on: Sunday 23 March 08 11:19 GMT (UK)  »
Is anyone making any headway as to the family tree of the Mumfords of Kings Sutton. There seems to be lots of Thomas, William, unreliable age giving on certificates, illigitimates, etc

World War Two / Arthur Charles Mumford
« on: Friday 01 February 08 16:22 GMT (UK)  »
I am sure that my Uncle, Charles Arthur (Wag) (Mumford) served and was captured in the battle for Crete in 1942.

I think he was a prisoner of war in Germany though I cannot be sure which prison camp(s) he was detained in.

Does anyone know what regiment etc he was in, he originated in Kings Sutton, Northants and lived in Banbury. I have searched to no avail, but a record of him must exist somewhere
