Dublin / Walter HULSTON
« on: Tuesday 26 December 17 16:19 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a baptism and possible death/burial of Walter Charles HULSTON. He was born 7 July 1865 in Dublin according to familysearch (Ireland Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881). He is not listed on the 1871 census with his family who were then back in Northampton (dad was a soldier and he was in the local barracks). They were back in Northampton by the beginning of 1869 as another child was registered March qtr 1869.
I cannot find a death for Walter on GRO. There is also another sibling Alfred William who was born in Belfast 1866/1867 who's birth I would like to find aswell.

Any pointers would be appreciated please.

Regards,

Sandra

Limerick / where is this place?
« on: Sunday 15 October 17 16:53 BST (UK)  »
When my 4 * g grandfather enlisted into the army he said he was born in Neugrania in Co Limerick. When I put this into google it brings up nothing for this place. Is this spelt incorrectly or is there no such place? On the 1851 census it just says he was born in Ireland. He died in 1852. Does anyone have any idea what it could possibly be please?

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Marriage of Jane Sim(m)s
« on: Monday 29 May 17 18:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi,  I am trying to find some information on my ggg grandmother Jane SIM(M)S. I believe she may have come from Suffolk. She was born according to her death certificate in 1817. In 1841 my ggg grandparents were living in London and both were listed as being born outside the county. I have established that John BANKS (ggg gf) came from Nayland, Suffolk so am assumIng that Jane also came from Suffolk (she died in 1846). I have found on familysearch a baptism for a Jane SIMS in 1817 in Sudbury which is not too far from Nayland. The dates would work but need to find the marriage (pre 1837 registration). Does anyone have access to the relevant records? or can point me in the right direction to be able to check them myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,  Sandra

Has Kensington been indexed yet? I am looking for John & Mary Ann BANKS in the Kensington area in 1851. I am hoping to find them with John's children William,Mary & Joseph.  I do not have an address to go by only that he was from Kensington when he remarried in Feb 1851. If someone could help I would be very grateful. This information could get me over a very high brick wall.  Thanks

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Burial in St Dunstan in the West
« on: Sunday 28 November 04 18:14 GMT (UK)  »
Due to the National Burial Index - 2nd edition we may have found an elusive ancestor. My 5g grandfather Thomas Gilchrist married in 1821 in Weedon Beck, Northamptonshire. He had three children the last being born in 1826 (Weedon Beck). In 1831 my 5g grandmother remarried (Weedon Beck). There was no sign of his death or burial locally. The NBI has a Thomas Gilchrist buried at St Dunstan in the West, City of London 14th November 1829 aged 48. Could this be him?Would anyone have access to the burial register and be able to look to see if there is any other info available on him please. We also have no idea where he came from prior to him being in Weedon serving in the RFA. The one listed at TNA is, we believe, not him as the dates do not match. TIA Sandra

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1851 HOLBORN LOOK UP PLEASE
« on: Friday 29 October 04 21:52 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for my ggg grandfather John BANKS in 1851. In 1841 he was in Portpool Lane with his wife Jane and two children William (3) and Mary (1). My gg grandfather Jospeh was born in Sept 1841 (Portpool Lane) and by 1846 they were living in Tothill Street, Holborn, Middlesex as that is the address given on the death certificate for Jane who died there November 1846. John was a shoemaker and hopefully stayed at that address to bring up his children (maybe taking another wife pretty soon). Has anyone access to a name index/or the census to check for me.please?  Some of the info above was kindly supplied by a rootschat member. TIA Sandra
