Hi All.
I don't know if any body can help but I am unable to read a will. In fact the only bit I can read is the persons name!!

It is for

Jonet Wyllie     5/11/1640    Sometime spouse to Robert Lauchland Bonnetmaker in Leith Wynd         Testament, Dative and Inventory.      Edinburgh commissary court        CC8/8/59

It's on the bottom 3rd of one page and top 2/3rds of the next. I presume I am not allowed to copy on to here?

Any help or advice on to where I might get help would  be appreciated.

Many thanks

Scotland / Reading old testaments/wills etc
« on: Wednesday 14 April 10 00:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi All.
I hope somebody out there can point me in the right direction. I have found a testament from an ancestor in the early 1600's. Having paid Scotlands People to download it is, as I half expected, impossable to read. Not their fault the image is good as they usually are but I can't understand the script.
Does anybody know where I could get a " translation

Thanks

Dublin / Crowder
« on: Monday 26 November 07 22:32 GMT (UK)  »
According to the 1851 census in Macclesfield, Cheshire mu William CROWDER was born in Ireland round abour 1806. The only reason that I think he might have been born in Dublin is that all the other Crowders in Macclesfield on that census state born in Dublin. My chappie just says born in Ireland! I don't know when/where he married but on that same census his wife is Hannah. At the birth of the first known child in 1842  he was a weaver.  Hannah (Parker) was born in Macclesfield but I can't find either of their births  nor their marriage.
This brick wall has had me stumped for 10 years or more. Whilst on other lines I have got back to the late 1500's my main direct line I am stuck
Please help if you can.
I did, many years ago hear about comebody researching Crowders in Dublin but have been unable to find any info.
Many thanks

« on: Sunday 18 November 07 15:07 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for the birth place and Parents marriage of William HUDSON. I know he was born in the Manchester area round about 1831 and was bapt in Warringto  on 21 July 1833. His parents were Robert HUDSON and Rachel SHAW. She was born in Warrington but I can't find their marriage. Robert was a cotton draper as was William after him . I think they had a drapers shop in Warrington. I am pretty sure they were non conformists, poss Weslyan Methodist.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
