Dublin / Finding Missing Sister
« on: Wednesday 31 March 21 22:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi i am nearly finished my research just one missing link(isn't there always one). My Grandfathers Half Sister Christina Leech was born in 1875 in Dublin, after this no mention of her. She does not appear in the Census Returns or in Marriage or Death Records. She is not mentioned in her Father's will eventhough all her siblings are, the will was written in 1911. Though she apparently appears in a family photo taken as her brother is about to ship out in 1916.
Would anyone have any suggestions of where i might look?
                      All suggestions are welcome

Hi all
Hope every one is keeping well in this troubling times. I found a death online for 1968 for a five year old child, what I need now is to get the birth cert. I know the cert itself is not online would the page number and volume number be or is a trip to Werburgh Street be necessary. Thanks in advance

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Ancestry DNA
« on: Tuesday 02 April 19 23:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
I know the rules do not allow name's of Living People to be posted. No name's will be mentioned this is to find out how accurate the DNA test is. A person did the test and received two link's to my family, which are both 2nd cousins once removed to me, but do not know each other. I do not know the percentage on the test as i have not seen it. But with two links would this be an accurate test. I have seen photo's of this person and there are strong similarities.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Grandfather George and his Brother
« on: Wednesday 14 February 18 22:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hello I hope you can help me out. This i think is a photo of my Grandfather and his brother. Unfortunately most of my older relatives are dead and those left have never seen them with hair. They were from Howth in Dublin and were sons of a fisherman. We have been told that they spent time in Scotland Salting Herrings and this caused hair loss. Would it be possible for somebody to age both men and remove their hair. I would be very grateful, as if it is them then this is the only photo of them with hair.
                                    With Thanks

Ireland / Burial Dublin Or Tullow
« on: Wednesday 15 March 17 14:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Just looking for some advice. My g g Grandmother Annie Henderson (nee Finn) was born Church of Ireland , Married C o I  in Tullow, had all her children Baptized CoI as far as i can see but also had the last few Baptized Roman Catholic also. Her husband died in 1894 buried in Tullow, then in 1901 she is living with a son in Dublin with Her Religion R C. same in 1911. In 1912 she dies whilst living with another son in Dublin both son's are C o I. I can understand Catholic's converting to C o I at this time but not the other way. I have tried Glasnevin and Mount Jerome Cemetries with no luck. Would any body be able to make any suggestion's. I have tried contacting the church in Tullow but no response, knowing where she is buried is not a necessity but would be nice. Sorry for the length of the post.
                                           Thanks Collech

Technical Help / Scotch Tape
« on: Tuesday 03 November 15 22:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I'm not sure if this is the right area to place this request, but any help is appreciated.
While helping to clear out my Aunt's house we found seven movie reels which we have left to
be developed, we also found an old audio tape which the local camera shop is unable to advice on where to go to have it transferred to disc. I should say this tape is from 1964 and i live in Dublin.
                        Thanks Colm
