Greetings!  Is there anyone out there familiar with Cefn Caves?  Could this old tin photo possibly have been taken there?  Thanks in advance for any feedback.  Cheers,  Sue

Greetings.  I am reposting this old tin photo inquiring as to a specific location this time.  Could this possibly have been taken at Cefn Caves, St. Asaph.  Also, any thoughts as to the approximate time period (as determined by the clothing) would be greatly appreciated, as well.   Thanks for viewing (again?)!  Regards,  Sue

Hi all.  Here is another photo that my grandmother, Jennie Jones Strye, had.  I am trying to figure out if it is from the St. Asaph area (her father John Frederick Jones's birthplace) or the Pontypridd/Aberdare area where her mother Mary Ann Jones was from.  It is an old tin plated photo...no name or date of course!  Thanks for any input!  Kind regards,  Sue

Absolutely ginormous picture removed!  ;D

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Aberdare photo part 2

Hi all!  Here is an old photo that my grandmother (b1894-d.1988 in Pennsylvania) had in her possession.  Her parents were both from Wales: John Frederick Jones (b.Oct 1859 in St. Asaph) immigrated to Luzerne County, PA in 1886 and Mary Ann Jones, maiden name Jones (b. Dec. 1869 supposedly in Pontypridd) immigrated to Luzerne County in 1881.  I am still researching her family (her father was David R. Jones and her mother Jane Edwards) and came across a potential match listed in Aberdare, not Pontypridd, in the 1871 census.  In this family there is a William Jones (b.1865) listed. Could this be him..who knows?!  I am just throwing it out to all who view these photos!  Any ideas as to the age of this would be greatly appreciated!  I need to post the front and back separately, due to size of file. Thanks for viewing,  Sue

Glamorganshire / Jones, Edwards from Pontypridd
« on: Wednesday 16 January 08 15:21 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings from Pennsylvania!  I am looking for any info on my great, great grandparents from Pontypridd.   David R. Jones married Jane Edwards (date unknown).  My great grandmother, Mary Ann Jones, born Dec. 1869, immigrated to Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, around 1881 (assuming with her parents).  She had two brothers that I am aware of: Evan R. (born Aug. 1874) and Edward T. (born Nov. 14, 1879).   Thanks for your time and have a Happy 2008!  Sue

Flintshire / Sarah Jones/Ty Cerrig St. Asaph
« on: Sunday 30 December 07 20:51 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for any information on my great, great grandmother Sarah Jones, born about 1833, in St. Asaph.  Her husband was Frederick.  Her oldest son, John (married Mary Ann Jones from Pontypridd in 1889) immigrated to Pennsylvania about 1886.  According to 1901 Wales census, she was 70 years old living with Llewellyn, her 24 year old son.  I do not know her maiden name.  She died around 1907 in St. Asaph.  Thanks!  Happy 2008 to all my fellow genealogists  :) ,  Sue
