London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Kings from Willesden area

Hi - I am trying to find William King b 1833 Hitchin, Herts and his wife, Martha b 1833 Hitchin, Herts.

I have last located them in the 1891 census residing at 43 Ruckledge Ave, Willesden with their daughter Ester & grandson Edward John King. (occp: Platelayer)

I can't find them in the 1901 census, so i thought perhaps they had died?

I located a death on Freebmd for William King June 1901 (3a/137) in Hendon registration district, which i beleived covered Willesden area at this time. However, if this is the William i am looking for, why wasn't he in the 1901 census, which i understand was taken at the end of March/start of April 1901.

I did find a Martha Hing (i think it should be King) in the 1901 census in Bedfordshire who was 74 (born 1827), widower, born in Hitchin, Herts.

I also found a death at Hendon for a Martha King in March 1909 aged 79 (born 1830). But i never found a Martha King living in this area in 1901. (I beleive Williams's parents were Tristrum King & Sarah Newbury)

Can anyone help? offer any suggestions? I am at a bit of a brick wall.

Renfrewshire / A PATON connection in Renfrew? Can u help solve it??

I am trying to find a connection between two PATON families who lived in the same roads (Manse St, Renfrew & Orchard St, Renfrew) from 1861 to 1881.

Family (1)

James Paton (b 1836 Paisley) & Elizabeth Jamieson lived in Manse St in 1866, when their first baby died here aged 2 days (i have death cert). I am trying to trace back James's line to see if there is connection. I discovered his father was called John Paton (born? died?)and mother was Annabella McLellan (b 1807 Paisley d 1892). (Obtained from James & Eliz marriage cert in 1859).

I can't find anything on John Paton. I can't find him in any of the censuses, so assumed he must have died before 1841. In the 1859 marriage of his son James, John is listed as deceased. I did find a marriage between John Paton and Annabella McLellan (Or McKellan) on 19/12/1827. I am estimating his birth to be about 1805ish. I can't find his death on SP. (I checked the OPR's on SP and the John Patons who died in 1838 & 1847 are not him.)

Family (2)

My relatives, Robert PATON and Mary NIXON also lived in Manse St at the same time (1866). I was wondering if John Paton could have been their son and James their grandson? Robert was born 1778 Kilbarchan and i have only ever found one child for him and Mary NIXON, a Robert born 1819 Renfrew who also lived in Manse St & Orchard Sts. (his death cert has him born 1812).

Can anyone help with this??

Hi

I haven't been having much luck trying to locate a death on SP for John McBride and wondered if anyone can help?

He was born in about 1811 in Ireland and married to Hannah MacKay. In the 1851 census, he is a carter by occupation and residing at Elba St, Wallacetown, Newton On Ayr. This is the last occasion i can verify that he was alive.

In August 1856, a daughter called Catherine McBride was married. John is recorded as being a deceased carter. Catherine's residence is listed as Smith St, Ayr.

So he died between 1851 and 1856.

Any help appreciated

I am researching the CARR family for my friend and have got back to Thomas CARR and Mary SKINNER who married in 1775 in Marlesford. They had the following children:
Mary b1776
Maria b 1778
Richard b 1780
Richard b 1786 (this is who her tree decends from)married Maria MATTON 1826 in Marlesford
James b 1789

Marlesford is apparently a small village and according to records i found, in 1870 there were 412 residents and 95 houses, so i can only assume a hundred years before that it would have been far less.

I also found a Thomas CARR who married Catherine MARKIN in 1764 in Marlesford. They had the following children:
Thomas b 1770
Catherine b 1764
Martha b 1766
Martha b 1768

The only birth close i can find is a Thomas CARR christened 1745 Framlingham. Father Joseph & Mother Elizabeth or maybe a Thomas CARR christened 1729 Kersey, Suffolk. Father John & mother Lucy. But i think Kersey is further away.

What i am wondering is that could Thomas CARR married Catherine MARKIN first in 1764 and then she possibly died (can't find any records) and then he remarried Mary SKINNER in 1775? . Could it just be the one Thomas? Reasons are that none of the children have the same names and also if he did remarry, the birth of the last child of the first marriage (with Catherine MARKIN) was in 1770 and the first child of the second marriage to Mary SKINNER was born in 1776.

Any help would be appreciated as i have kind of hit a brick wall and can't go any further back.

I am trying to locate information concerning an EMMA JANE BARNETT who was born 1839 in Adelaide (according to her marriage certificate 1856 to a Charles CARR).

Her parents were WILLIAM BARNETT and CHARLOTTE ?? . I have attached a copy of their names taken from the marriage certificate to see if anyone can read Charlotte's surname.

I checked a few online databases and found a passenger list and found the following entry:
" William Barnett, chlt n BURCHER, Chas, WmF, Eliz, Geo Arr 24/6/1838 on Eden from Portsmouth".

I was wondering if 'chlt' could be Charlotte and maybe that surname i can't read might be Burcher???

I also found 'William Barnett/Barrett arr 24/1/1845 on Jane and Emma from Launceston", which i thought interesting, since his daughter was called Emma Jane, but she was apparently born 1839.....

I also found a William Barnett/Bannett/Bennett died 13/1/1845 aged 29/30 buried at Adelaide West Terrace Cem.

The marriage cert did not state if either parent was deceased or not.

Any help would be appreciated

I can't find the following births and wonder if they were actually ever recorded???

Charles William WILES Born 13 June 1876 Percydale, Victoria. Father James WILES & mother Maria CARR

I beleive James WILES (father of Charles) may be the son of Griffen Fletcher WILES (born 1830) & Mary Ann WHITE. I found an entry for a death in 1915 for James. Griffen & Mary had other children born in 1850-1860, so i think James may have been born at the time, but again i can't find a birth entry for him.

These people lived in the Clunes/Percydale/Ballarat areas and were gold miners.

Any ideas and help much appreciated.

Hi

I am trying to locate a death for a Hannah McBride (nee Mackay). Last known address was 245 High St, Ayr in the 1861 census. Her daughter was married in July 1863 and it states both parents are deceased.

I can't locate her death on Scotland People. Her husband was John McBride and i can only find him in the 1851 census and no death.

I beleive they were both born in about 1811 in Ireland.

I live over in Australia, so any help anyone can give me would be appreciated

Has anyone come across a Diana/Dina Sweeton/tin/ter born about 1753 in Ireland? She married a Thomas Farrell/Ferrel in about 1773/4.

I am trying to locate her family. Any info on this surname in Ireland would be appreciated, as it appears quite unusual.

Europe / GREEK BMD - Can anyone write Greek??

Hi

I am trying to locate my Greek family (SIDERIS) from Argos in Greece. I have an email address for somewhere i can apparently obtain further info from, but the only problem is that i don't write Greek and no one in my family does! I did send an email in English, but i didn't get a reply.

I want to ask if any information can be found for the following people who were all born in Argos:

Ioannis SIDERIS married Panayoula SIDERIS. They had two sons (possibly more children?) Constantino born 15/8/1889 or 28/8/1890 and Angelo (unknown dob). Constantino married Erene Bellishotis b.abt 1888 in Argos. They had two sons, George b 8/6/1912 and Nicholas Constantino b 15/9/1914.
Erene died about 1915-1925. Constantino immigrated to Australia in 1914.

If anyone can put this is in Greek so i can copy and paste it to another email, i would be soooooo grateful!!
