Looking for anyone researching James Henry Middleton b. 1817 to parents James John Middleton (b. 1880) and Louise Anne who emigrated from England 1908.

Census of 1921 shows living in Fort William Rainey River, Ontario.

London and Middlesex / Ridley b1800 St.Pancras or St Marylebone. What would you do?
« on: Monday 02 November 15 01:31 GMT (UK)  »
I look for birth of John Ridley.
For the record: I have a John Ridley marrying Mary Anne Shaw in Parish of South Hackney Oct1832.
A son was born 1834 and Baptism recorded again in Parish of South Hackney.
Their address on that baptism record was Hertford Road , Kingsland.
Subsequent Census 1841/71 on, show him and family living in West Ham Stratford.
On these Census his age indicates born 1800 in Pancras ( I presume St. Pancras )

Sadly I have not found his birth in 1800 St Pancras but there is a John born St. Marylebone 1802.

I understand it's close. ...but still bearing in mind I have no way of proving a link.

So is the latter's certificate a worthwhile gamble?....or does the foregoing suggest an alternative to anyone.

Grateful for input
Tks

Have had this for some time and have thought to be 1870's.

Can anyone confirm my thinking?

The lady is from a Huguenot Family. Maybe her style reflects that.

Thank you in advance for your assistance

I have a record of a Baptism at St Dunstans. 1761

The address shown is 'RaTc'

I am familiar with the M.E.O.T. abbreviation but this one....????

The father of the child is a Mariner. Could it be a Naval term?

Thank you in anticipation.

One Name Studies: N to S / Ridley's Stepney
« on: Sunday 05 January 14 02:01 GMT (UK)  »
Any Ridley's who have knowledge of or relationships in the Stepney area 1837 period. Would appreciate contact.

My interest is in an Alfred Ridley, recorded on 1851 Census. Age 14 (thus born 1837) Stepney, scholar at Adelaide Academy, Adelaide St in Stepney.
I need to find his birth. (If he were my relative his father would be a William Ridley.)

Note. He is not the Alfred Ridley born 1839 to Henry and Mary Ridley of Whitechapel

There were many Ridley's in earlier years in Stepney who were gunmakers. Are there any relatives of them out there?

Thanks for any interest.
