Lincolnshire / Marriage of Mark WESTERDALE
« on: Friday 05 January 18 22:02 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for the marriage of my six times great grandfather Mark Wester(n)dale who lived in Exton, Rutland. He has three sons by his wife Margaret baptised between 1689 and 1695. I am related to his second son Samuel, baptised 1691/2. I have searched most of the parishes in Rutland but hope that he might have popped over the border to Lincolnshire.
I would be delighted to have the maiden name of Margaret
Thanks Delboy31

Hi Chatters

Can anyone find the marriage of Edward Gawthorn/e to Mary ??. (I guess between 1800 and 1806) The couple lived much of their life in Roade, Nths. Their children were born from Dec 1806 to Oct 1819, and all six were baptised at Doddridge Congregational Chapel, in Northampton.

I know that Edward died in Jan 1838, aged 61, and was buried in Northampton Hospital burial ground. Therefore born circa 1776.

I only have proof that the family was associated with Roade from 1822 til 1854 when Mary was buried there, so it may be that they came from elsewhere before that.

Cheers

I have been looking for the marriage of Isaac RODDIS to Susannah ?? for many years. The couple lived in Northampton town and had children baptised from 1741 at St Sepulchre. Isaac was a basketmaker and was born in Flore in 1715.
Susannah's maiden name has eluded me for 20+ years and it would be great to complete this branch back to 1580s

Hi Chatters

I have been looking in vain for the marriage of an ancestor of mine:-

Francis WAKEFIELD to Sarah ?? circa 1738.

Their first (?) child was baptised at Hindolveston in November 1739.

I have checked loads of neighbouring parishes (where records exist) and have come up blank.

Whilst you are there another ancestor needs a marriage:-

Caleb WAKEFIELD to either Rebecca or Beatrice (or both). He had one child baptised at Hindolveston in 1694. When he died in 1722 his will says his wife is "Betris" though that baptism says Rebecca.

Any help would make one chap very happy.

Hi Chatters,

I have just been trying to get some information on some people who lived in St Davids.
Charles Martin, who was a mason died in 1820, and named his wife Martha, daughter Elizabeth and son James in his will of that date.

I am trying to find the marriage of Charles MARTIN to Martha ??. I can only guess the date, but in the 1841 census Martha is aged "80", possibly rounded down? This gives her birth date of around 1756-1761. So a marriage any time after say 1774 is possible but as their daughter Elizabeth was born around 1798, I suspect that the date is rather later say 1790s?

I am also researching the name Propert, any baptism of Thomas PROPERT circa 1797 in St Davids would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi family hunters,

Can anyone help me out. I am trying to find the baptism of a William WOOD, who was born in Limehouse around 1810/1.

In the 1851 census he is an engineer, aged 40 and born in Limehouse. His family was living in St George the Martyr, Southwark. Any help would be greatly appreciated as Wood is a pretty common name and has become the proverbial needle in the haystack.

Hi Chatters,

I am trying very hard to locate the parents of Emma BRUNDLE who was born in Occold circa 1841/2.

I think that the father was a John BRUNDLE, but there is a son and father both of age to produce children. I did find the mother in 1851 with grandaughter Emma aged 9, but cannot fix her father. Are there two Emma BRUNDLEs born around that time? John snr was a hawker, jnr was a carpenter if that helps.

Cheers
