Her g.g grandfather was Michael Theobald Mathew Murphy

The Common Room / Unearthed Treasure How do I find their ancestors
« on: Saturday 29 July 17 11:52 BST (UK)  »
An absolute treasure has turned up in Folkestone, Kent (but could have come from anywhere)

A hard back photo album - looks like jumanji book, all hand painted around the photo, given as a   present to Peter Charles Brachi on his 21 birthday from his cousins. The date being January 27th 1877 . I have attached the first page of a photo album.  Can anyone help find his roots so to speak?

Many thnaks

The second of these life long friends has died and this is there only photograph together. We wanted to enlarge it slightly to use at a memorial service but their features on their faces seem to disappear. The original picture is only about 3 inches by 4 inches. Can anyone help? Thank you for reading . x

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Girl with no shoes - special

This picture was taken 10 years ago before my sister got ill and needed a heart transplant. She has never been well  since and is currently in hospital.  Her 60th birthday is coming mid August  and we are doing her a surprise party.  We would love this picture 'fixed' to put her at a party or some other exciting venue so it can be displayed at the party.  She wont be able to get out of her wheelchair so I know it will be a lovely surprise for her to be able to imagine herself dancing or having fun. Please keep her dress this colour as she loved it, but the background needs to go!   If possible, could you put some shoes on her.

thanks

Worcestershire / Where to start? !!!!

I am trying to help a friend (who has hit a blank) find his fathers birth record and I'm wondering whether anyone could help.

Known details:

John White married Nellie Powell in Bromsgove Worchester on 29th November 1914.
His details are given as aged 31, batchelor,  occ. Farm Labourer 17 Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove. fathers name John White occ. Labourer.
Nellie White age 21, spinster, 17 Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, no fathers details (born in workhouse to a single lady Mary, who later married a Frank Field.  Both Mary and Frank were witnesses at the wedding.

The only other details we have on John White are his Military history. He was in the Royal Garrison Artillary his number was 56984

His birthday was on 21 February, so if the marriage certificate age is right that would mean he was born 1883.

John White spoke of being a cartboy in Liverpool.  He also had travelled to Eygyt at some point in his life  (possibly while in the forces) and possibly Canada according to tales told in the past.

Will any of this info help find his birth details?

Thanks for looking

My dad (aged 80)  was reminiscing yesterday and mentioned that he used to go to the Ace Ballroom on Canada Rd Deal. He said he thinks it used to be a cinema at some point where he would go to Saturday morning pictures. Has anyone heard of it?

Regards Chrissi
