The Common Room / Belgian request

Dear Rootschat members
I'm looking for info of my dad and his family.
- My dad : Barnes Patrick James ° Calcutta 18-06-1911 / + Antwerp 07-03-1977
Divorced Van Destel Zulma
Married my mum Pluquet Yvonne at Willesden 30-08-1952 - I have the wedding certificate.
- His father : Barnes James - private Connaught Rangers
- His mother : O'farrell Annie Louise - she (re) married a Smith
According her only leftover letter, dated October 1979, she was then 94.
The adress was 20 Mansell place
Montague Estate
Newcastle Upon Tyne
My dad was a soldier in WWII - faught in Africa.
He was also several years in the Merchant Navy. I found info about that in the online National Archive. There is no birth entry in the Forces and Regimental indexes or in India.
That's all the information I have. It would be great if someone could help.
If someone needs info from Belgium ; region East Flanders ; Ghent, mayby I could find it.
