Herefordshire / Weobley to Illinois USA
« on: Saturday 13 April 24 21:20 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I'm trying to find out if possible when a relative of mine left Weobley to go to America.
Her name was Mary King Lawrence. She was born in Byford, Hereford on 13th October 1835. She was baptised in Byford, Hereford on 18th October 1835. Her 1st marriage was to John Wilson in Hereford 1857. They had 9 known children before John Wilson died in Weobley, Hereford in 1872. She married her 2nd husband George Jones in Preston on Wye, Weobley on 6th March 1873. We believe they had 2 children, possibly more. One possibly George and another Ella. We know nothing of these 2 children nor her 2nd husband George Jones. Between 1873 and 1922 we know many of her children and herself went to Illinois USA. She died in Illinois USA on 17th December 1922.
Any help in finding when she arrived in America and left the UK would be greatly appreciated. It would also be nice to find out what happened to George Jones and/if what happened to any children they had from this 2nd marriage.
Kind regards.
