Kilkenny / Bergin / Brophy - Kilkenny pre 1830
« on: Wednesday 09 August 23 03:37 BST (UK)  »

James Bergin (m) Mary Brophy - about 1805??
One known son John Bergin 1809 - who married Alice Byrne (date unknown) assuming in the county of Kilkenny - as their first child Bridget was born 1835, Gowran.

I cannot locate anything about John's siblings - or his parents.   I have seen somewhere that James (the father) was born in Gowran, Kilkenny 1782, although not sure if this is correct - as I cannot locate any records, perhaps none exist.

The line from John and Bridget (Byrne) Bergin - family down, is pretty much ok, but it is the line going the other way, that is difficult to trace.

Any help re: this topic would be most appreciated.     Jak

Lincolnshire / Bryan family Lincolnshire
« on: Friday 31 May 19 01:02 BST (UK)  »
Looking for info on the Bryan family of Lincolnshire prior to 1830.
a Sarah Bryan (parents unknown) had married a George Collins in December 1827, Carlby Lincolnshire.  Apparently there was one child to this union.   Nothing is known about Sarah Bryan's parents/siblings.   The Collins were originally from Edenham.

Collins (1803) was at least 24 at time of marriage,  parents permission was given for Sarah to marry, assuming she was born after 1810.

Any help regarding Sarah Bryan would be appreciated.

Hi

Owen William & Ethal Mary (Paten) Sweet
They married June 25, 1912  what seems to be

I have 3 known children who seem to have been all born in Buckinghamshire.

1. Beatrice D.b. 1915
2. Marjorie J. b. 1917
3. Robert O.  b. 1919

Another question:- we are not sure what happened to their son Robert - he could be found in the free BDM look-up.  (who he married etc)

Cavan / Mary Ann McGirveny - 1821
« on: Saturday 19 December 09 10:44 GMT (UK)  »

Hi all;
Looking for any possible help to locate any info regarding a  Mary Ann McGirvney (last name maybe spelt slightly diffrent).

she married a bloke of (Henry?) SMITH in Ireland sometime between 1840 - 1848.   There seemed to be no children to this first marriage.

Mary Ann was born in 1821. and it was believed that she was from the villiage 'Erashelock' which I belive could be ' Crosserlaugh' in Co Cavan.

"Erashelock' Co Cavan was recorded on her marriage certificate - when she married the second time in 1849 in Australia.

Her parents are unknown, however -

Any help would be appreciated

Galway / MARY LANTRY - Co Galway
« on: Saturday 19 December 09 10:31 GMT (UK)  »

Hi
Searching in formation re: a Mary LANTRY born 1828, daughter of Pater & Margaret Lantry.  (Catholic)

There is nothing known abt Peter and Margaret Lantry only that they died before 1856.

When Mary migrated to Australia in 1856, at the age of 28yrs,  her parents were readed as being dead.  She came to Australia to meet up with her cousin with the last name of Broderick.

One her shipping recorded its stated that she was a native of  'Killimer' Co Galway.  Quickly looking at the villiages of Galway, Killimer doesn't seem to be anywhere, so I am guessing it was incorrectly written down on the shipping records.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jack
