If you need a personal guide while you are in Norfolk, have a look at:

http://www.norfolktours.webs.com/

a local guide to show you around the County. Your own personal driver, picking you up from anywhere and taking you where you want to go, as well as a commentary on where you are going, places you pass through and guided tours of where you stop off at.

Just what the family history tourist always wanted.

Warwickshire / Spring Gardens, Tamworth
« on: Friday 19 December 08 19:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I have found some people living in Spring Gardens in Tamworth in census from 1881-1901 but I can't find anything online about this area.  Does anyone on here recognise the name and is it still there?  Has it been demolished or had the name changed?

Are there any old photographs of Tamworth online, apart from Frith?

Many thanks.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Thomas Bloye bn Wapping c1830
« on: Tuesday 29 July 08 22:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Could anyone please check the registers of Wapping for the baptism of Thomas Francis Bloye c1831.

He was in the British Orphan Assylum in 1841 and at 3 Grove Villas, Loughborough Road, Lambeth by 1871.

His parents obviously died between 1829 and 1841.

If I can do any look-ups in Norfolk, I would be happy to help.

Hi All

I have, for many years, been researching family history and helped lots of people to find their ancestors.  I am now thinking about starting a business which would give people a no worry holiday in Norfolk, visiting places of interest, family stomping grounds, towns and city, etc etc etc, all with a driver and tour guide with local knowledge and historical background.

I could take clients to the Record Office and libraries so they can do their own research (with me as a helping hand having already organised the documents to be ready), visit Churches, pick up from airports and sort out accommodation etc etc.

What do you guys think?  Would there be enough call for such a service?

Please get back to me with your opinions.

Staffordshire / Hawes recent death
« on: Friday 18 January 08 09:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I wonder if anyone has information on a death of Christopher Hawes, who died around January 2006.  He is said to have died after falling from a building in Wolverhampton.

Newspaper reports would be very welcome.

Many thanks.

Australia / Australian Wills
« on: Sunday 02 December 07 11:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

First of all, thanks very much for the help I have received on this board already!

Are any Australian Wills available online?  Indexes or the actual wills?

Old maps and photographs too, I am especially interested in the area around Adelaide and what it was like 100 plus years ago. (Clare, Beverly, Hindmarsh, Blackiston, Strathalbyn, etc).

Many thanks.

Hi All

I have found a few people who arrived on this ship in January 1853 and now I wonder the best way to look for them in Australia?

I know my way around the English records but not the Australian ones online.  Are there any freeBMD sites for South Australia?  How would I find out where the family went to after they arrived?

As you lot are aware, Australia is a big place...................where do you start?

Many thanks.
