Occupation Interests / LMS Railway Porter - Bristol

Morning All,
I am trying to find information on my Grandfathers time as an LMS Railway Porter in the Bristol area. My information is limited as my father was an only child, his parents died before I was born and due to a family rift between my Grandfather and his siblings no-one really knows anything about him. I just know that he was a porter in 1947 when my father was born.
I have found a website about the formation of the railway but does anyone know if there is anywhere I can find out employee records etc.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
