Would be grateful for any help with a brick wall I've got!

Hannah Stuttle married William Laken in the Parish of St James, Ratcliff, London in 1859.
She is shown as a spinster age 30 living at Spring Gardens and her father is shown as Henry Stuttle, occupation Carpenter.

I have seen other posts regarding Stuttles who are carpenters but cannot locate a daughter Hannah Stuttle born circa 1829, father Henry. I cannot find her on any census prior to marriage or a birth certificate either.

Any help would be most appreciated re any information of her Stuttle family.

Ireland / Hipparchus Dolan
« on: Saturday 26 August 17 21:53 BST (UK)  »
This name is shown on a marriage certificate as being the father of James Dolan born in Ireland around 1865, occupation shown as Mariner but living in Poplar, London, marrying Alice Mary Tucker in 1884.

Not sure where in Ireland he came from but know James was a Catholic.

Know it's difficult to locate Irish locality but thought as his father Hipparchus was an unusual name, I would be able to locate where in Ireland came from but having no luck so far.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Derbyshire / William Peters marriage/census Louisa / Harriet (derby)
« on: Wednesday 30 November 16 15:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi  I am very confused ??? and hoping someone can help.

Jane Peters born 1864 married Leonard Walker born 1859 married each other in 1883. (of this I am definite. I have the marriage certificate which shows Jane was living at 2 Canal Street, Derby in 1883 and her father was William Peters and his profession was engine driver.

I found her on the 1881 census living at Canal Street but her parents are shown as William and Harriet. And same parents again for 1871albeit at diff address.  Initially I checked for a birth cert for Jane which i have now got shows dob 21 Aug 1864,  Louisa Peters formally Clark as mother, occ of father engine teder and address 6 stockbrook street.

When I look for a marriage for William and Louisa there is one comes up in 1863 in Derby.

My confusion is if Louisa is Jane's mother as per birth cerificate  then i cannot find any census records showing this? I did check to see if there was a marriage for Harriet and William but found nothing?

Any help gratefully received

Kilkenny / Mcgee family name Kilkenny?
« on: Thursday 26 May 16 16:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I know this may be a total longshot. I have some ancestors with surname Mcgee which up until today I could not identify whereabouts in Ireland they came from.
I have been told today by a relative that Kilkenny had been mentioned by my late grandmother as the home of her ancestors. Unfortunately, I cannot narrow it down any further but if anyone could confirm if the name Mcgee was in any area in Kilkenny so I could possibly investigate futher.
The family I am looking for are shown in the 1841 uk census in Derby as
John McGee born abt 1786 Ireland
Hannah       born abt 1801   "
Anne          born abt 1826    "
Thomas      born abt 1831    "
Edward       born abt 1833    "
Catherine    born abt 1835 Derby
Mary McLoughlin born abt 1823  Ireland (nee Mcgee married to Patrick in 1841 UK)

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Joseph Slater - Breadsall 1842
« on: Wednesday 03 February 16 16:07 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for the GRO registration details to order a birth certificate for Joseph Slater born Breadsall 1842.

The one I ordered as it is the only one I could find was Reg dist Belper, Vol 19, pg 419.
This is definitely wrong as it list parents as William and Mary.

My Joseph Slater's parents were Benjamin and Elizabeth. I have the marriage certificate for Joseph to Mary Ann Cotton showing Benjamin as his father and the census seems to suggest Betty (elizabeth) as his mother. I think her maiden name was marsh.

I would like to get a birth certificate as proof even though I have the baptism details showing 23 Jan 1842 showing his parents as Benjamin and Elizabeth  and the baptism place as Breadsall as per "England Select Births and Christenings" On his marriage certificate it states his place of residence as Stanley at time of marriage.

Any help appreciated
