Hello
I am looking for the Arnott Tartan in Argyllshire, Campbelltown. My 4X Great Grandfather Donald/Duncan Arnott came from the area. He left in 1823 and Came to Canada. I would like to see if and what the Tartan would look like. I have found some online, but would like to talk to an Arnott that may have the colors and pattern.

Thanks

« on: Tuesday 24 November 15 22:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I received a death certificate of I am hoping my GG Grandfather. It is saying on the certificate Dead body found Eighth of December 1919 River Medway, Rochester. That there was an Inquest held on 10 of December 1919 by Reguiald Jup-bascall Sledman (it was hard to read the handwriting). The person Owen Knight age 71 address of 115 Market Street East Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. cause of death Drowning there being no evidence to show how deceased got into the water.
I would like to find out how to get the inquest papers to see if any relatives were called. My GG Grandfather was an Owen Knight the age is correct and in 1909 he traveled to Manitoba, Canada to be with his son and one daughter. I cannot find any thing after 1909. His second daughter lives in Kent county latter on in her life I don't know when she moved there.

Any help would be great.

Greetings
I have a request for a photo of a Tombstone in St John's Church Yard in the Parish of Stand Lane Radcliffe. I live in Canada. The only information I have is from the parish records .. John Davenport and his Daughter Mary Jane Davenport buried in the same private grave in St John's Church Yard in the Parish of Stand Lane in the county of Lancaster. They died 1895 and 1899. I am not sure how to get the grave site number or directions to their plot. I am not even sure they have a tombstone. If by chance there are any more tombstones of Davenports in the same area a picture of them would be greatly appreciated. If I need more information or someone has information on how to get it please let me know and I can work on it. Thanks in advance. Greg Arnott

Staffordshire / Davenport, William
« on: Saturday 01 October 11 04:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am looking for help on finding my Great Uncle William Davenport, Born 1885 in Lancashire. He moved to Coseley, Staffordshire, from there went to war, came back and lived at 19 Hurst Rd. Hurst Hill, Bilston. I don't know for how long.  I don't know much about him except that he was in WW1 with the South Staffordshire Reg. Number 17282. He was a coal miner and rumor has it after the war married his best friend's wife, after he was killed in the war.
I am trying to find him, his marriage record anything about him, do you have any ideas on how to go about looking or ways to find him.  I have his war records and the records of 1911 England census. He is living at Hurst Hill with his mother who remarried. I have a death record that could be him dying in 1938 at Cannock Staffordshire. the age is close and his occupation of a coal miner. His wife at the time is S.J. Davenport.
I am stumped on which way to go next.

« on: Friday 24 June 11 18:59 BST (UK)  »
I am requesting a look up in the Kelly's Directory 1936-1940 or earlier for a William or Eliza Ann Cresswell. There last know address was 19 Hurst Rd. Hurst Hill Staffs. This was in 1917. They lived at this addres since 1902?? Different years showed part of the address saying Biliston and another saying Deepfields. I think they are all in Sedgley, Staffordshire.
Another person I am looking for is William Davenport he is Eliza Ann's Son he listed his address as the same on his World War 1 records. the 1917 time period is the last contact I have found for these relatives. Any help would be appreciated.

Staffordshire / Munition factory in Staffordshire
« on: Monday 23 March 09 21:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am looking for information on Munition Factories in Staffordshire, close to Sedgley or Coseley. My Grandmother came to see her mother in Coseley in 1916 and had to stay for a year. She ended up working in a Munition factory for that time period. Is there any close to this area.

Thanks
Greg
