World War Two / Merchant navy, H.M.T 136?

Hello, my grandfather served in the Merchant navy during ww2. I've obtained some records and he was discharged through ill health (the cause being covered up for privacy, I assume)
The doctor's note mentions that he was - in H.M.T 136.
Does anyone know what this stands for? I thought it may be the ship he was on but no luck, the letter is dated late Feb 1943. A trawler with that number sank 2- 3 years earlier! The letter has the union castle line company stamp on it, so i know he was on one of theres. Another paper says his last ship was Stirling castle in 1943, so I'm thinking it stands for something completely different.

I would be grateful if someone could help?

A William Warner married a Ruth Perry on the 2nd March 1764 in Bourton On The Water.

William was an ancestor of mine and I was hoping the Parish records might give more information on him eg his birth place etc.

They spent most of their time in the Southleigh area of Oxfordshire. However the brick walls have sprung up!

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / John RUDDOCK birth abt 1682 longbridge Deverill?

Hi,

I would be very grateful if anyone can help me?

I'm trying to find out where in Wiltshire John Ruddock (Ruddick) was born, which in turn may help me go further back with his parents.

I found him on the IGI with 1682 in Wilts! He later went on to marry Abigail in 1706 and children soon followed in Brixton Deverill.
I can't find him in baptisms for Brixton, Monkton,Hill and Kingston Deverill, however there does seem to be some gaps!
I haven't been able to look at Longdridge Deverill and this could be a possibility. But I'm aware it could be any where in Wilts!!

Any help or advice would be greatly received.

Meath / Parish Records- Ryan

Hello,

I wonder if someone can help? Parish lookup or advice please.

I'm looking for any record on a Timothy Ryan, Birth, marriage or death.

Although most Ryans seem to be in Limerick, Tipperary, I'm looking first in County Meath because- He is stated as the father of my other ancestor, James Ryan.
James got married to a Bridget Gallagher in Oldcastle, Meath in 1866.
I cant seem to find anything for Meath but possibilities in Limerick!

I wonder if someone can help?

I have been looking for details of a marriage between James Ryan and Bridget Gallagher.

I have been able to gain access to the 1911 census, where the family are in West Derby, Liverpool.

Both James and bridget are apparently County meath born and were married in abt 1866.
James was born abt 1840 and Bridget abt 1851, this makes Bridget particularly young for marriage!?

Previously I have traced them in the 1891 and 1901 census in west Derby aswell.

I would be grateful for any help.

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me?

Up to now I've been looking for William in Somerset because he seems to have been married to a Phoebe Humpthrys in 1832 and had at least one child there.

The main info I have on him, relates to the 1841 census, where I have him in Southampton, he died in 1845 in Southampton.

Alot of my favorites in Somerset possibly lived much longer, so I,vie turned my attention to Wiltshire, where some W.Ruddock's were born.
His wife was born in Wiltshire too!

Limerick / james ryan, bridget gallagher marriage????

I would be grateful if someone could help me?

It is a long shot, but I'm trying to find out more about James Ryan born in Ireland abt 1841-1846!

I know he married a Bridget gallagher and Limerick seems to be popular with the Ryan's, so I'm trying my luck!!!
He was up to ten years older, so 1868-1887 could have been the marriage period?

I would be grateful if someone could help me?

William Ruddock died in Southampton in 1845.
I was trying to find out more about him and in particular his birth, about 1803.
I think this may have been in Somerset, but his death records may give more information?
Also the young age of death interests me?
