Sligo / Horan Family 1800 to 1900

Hi,
Am wondering if there is anyone out there who may have contacts with The Horan famiyl 1800-1900.
This is the family of my late husband,Drew. He often referred to them as coming from Sligo.
This is what I have so far
John Horan c1830 married to Winifred McFarry. His son is Michael Horan born c1850 married to Mary Dolan, His siblings were Catherine, Michael Teirnan and John c1876. John came to Edinburgh, married and had a son John my father in law. John went from Edinburgh to USA twice but returned to Edinburgh and died 1920.
Any help would be great, I am sorry I dont have more details.

Here I go again...John Carnegie Allan born Aberdeen and baptised in 1849...son of William Allan and Catharine Carnegie. Married Helen Wemyss c 1878 in Bervie. Daughter Susan Ann Allan born in 1880 in Bervie. In 1881 Helen is listed as a widow in the census in Bervie.
John was a ships carpenter. Does this mean he would have been aboard a ship or on land?
I have found one death for a John Allan on marine register from Scotland on board the Diana. He was stabbed/murdered.
I am not sure if this is the one I am looking for.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if Dykelands Cottages in the Marykirk area stiil exist. My mother was born there in 1936. Her parents were Thomas and Sarah Welsh. She had a brother called Terry born in 1939. (All are deceased ). Does anyone know or remember them.

Midlothian / Giacomo Bonino c1885

Can any one help...I am doing research for my freind and her gt grandfather was Giacomo Bonino, we think c1885...all my friend knows is that he was living in the Gorgie area in 1910....any help wopuld be good...thanks, Lynda

New Zealand Completed Requests / Robert Freer Roger, c1929 - 1954

I am doing a wee bit of research for a freind... Her uncle was Robert Roger, who was born in Biggar, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in 1929, came to Wanganui. New Zealand, in c1953...was there about 6 months and was killed in an accident involving a horse. He is buried in Palmerston Court cemetry. If anyone can send us info about this incident or send a picture of his headstone (if there is one). Any help would be good..

Hi,
I wonder if any of you can help me. One of my ladies in Edinburgh has asked me to take a wee look at her family history...she will be 90 this year and will have been married for 70 years in August.
Her grandfather was Andrew William Stewart who was born in Holywell c 1868. (according to the census in 1911). He married Jean Steadman, but I cannot find a marriage cert for this. They had six children all born in Edinburgh. Whilst she remembers him, he never spoke about his family or roots. She knew he came from Wales. He worked in a laundry in Edinburgh, but ended up as proprietor of a hotel in Ayr. Would any one out there be able to help me with his parents and where they lived and what they did.
