Northumberland Lookup Requests / Baptism lookup St Bartholomew, Longbenton please
« on: Monday 15 March 10 17:53 GMT (UK)  »
A friend has been at a halt for many years with this research and I believe I may know why, but need to prove it.

Her mother Mary Cresswell BELL was born on 6th July 1910 at Knights Buildings, Dudley, Weetslade.  The birth certificate names her father as Robert BELL and her mother as Ann EARNSHAW.

I have found no marriage for this couple, but have found the marriage of Robert BELL to Ann SHAW 2Q 1907 Tynemouth.  I've also found subsequent children born to this couple, but no children born to a BELL/EARNSHAW union.

The 1911 Census has the family at Knights Buildings, Dudley.
BELL Robert Head Mar 27 Coal Miner Hewer Seghill Northumberland
BELL Ann Wife Mar 4yrs 27 Sunderland Durham
BELL Benjamin Son 3 Annitsford Northumberland
BELL John Son 2 Annitsford Northumberland
BELL Mary Creswell Daughter 10m Dudley Northumberland

I have traced Robert BELL's family back through all the Census.

If Ann is SHAW and not EARNSHAW I can trace her family back through all the Census.  I have suggested to my friend that she get the birth certificate of Ann's brother Benjamin BELL for comparison, but thought first I would ask if anyone would be able to view the baptisms for Mary born 1910 and possibly Benjamin born 3Q 1907.

I believe the Parish Church would be St Bartholomew, Longbenton, although St Pauls at Dudley may be a possibility.

I'd appreciate any help with this or further suggestions.

Many thanks

The Common Room / Copyright acknowledgement has gone!
« on: Sunday 28 January 07 18:53 GMT (UK)  »
I've just noticed that the acknowledgement to Copyright is not now displaying on the bottom of my posts.

It's still there in My Profile, so should display.

Does anyone know why this should be and do I need to do something to put it right?
