Would be grateful for any information on the marriage of my gg grandparents Patrick Hanley to Mary Connor.  They lived in Salmon's Lane, Ballyleague.   I believe Patrick was born c1811 but not sure yet about Mary's birth.  Their oldest child that I know of, Frank, was born 1850 with the youngest found so far, Annie Maria, in 1867 so I presume Mary was a lot younger than Patrick.  My g grandmother Agnes was born c1862 and her brother William was born 1866.  Any assistance you are able to offer would be much appreciated. Thanks. Ljay

London and Middlesex / Elizabeth Nellie NESBERT family c1871
« on: Tuesday 03 September 13 21:49 BST (UK)  »
Would be grateful for any information on the mother and family of Elizabeth Nellie NESBERT who I believe was born in the Hackney area about 1863/1864.  She married William John George ARCHER,  a tailor, on 18 Dec 1884 at Christ Church, Albany Street, Pancras, Middlesex and her father was listed as David NESBERT a Publican by trade.  Witnesses were George POWELL and Elizabeth RIDGWELL.  According to the Banns for her marriage her address at the time was 22 Munster Square in the St Pancras St Mary Magdalene area.  Once married William and Nellie moved to the Greenwich area where they raised their family and lived until their deaths.  I cannot find any reference to her father David or the rest of the family in the 1871 census and wondered perhaps if there was some way of tracing their location from his occupation.  Any advice or information would be very much appreciated.  Thank you.  Ljay

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Burial record Staffordshire June 1951
« on: Tuesday 03 September 13 11:19 BST (UK)  »
Would be very grateful for advice on how to trace any information on Frederick Percival ARCHER who died on 31 May 1951 in the Leek area of Staffordshire.  He was married in a civil ceremony to an Ellie T MCALEAVEY in 1934 in Cheadle so may, or may not, be buried with her.  I have been unable to find any further information on either of them, or any subsequent family, apart from the fact that Frederick was living at New Inn Longdon Stoke-upon-Trent when he died.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you are able to offer.  Ljay

Kent / Emma Charlotte HIDER - Marriage or death record Chatham area possibly
« on: Friday 24 May 13 16:10 BST (UK)  »
I would be very grateful for any advice on ways of tracing information on the marriage or death of Emma Charlotte HIDER born in the September quarter of 1878 in Chatham, Kent.  Emma is on the census records between 1881 and 1901 at 3 or 8 High Street, Gillingham, Kent and 393 High Street, Chatham but then seems to disappear without trace.  Her father was Edward Charles HIDER whose death in 1906 gave the address of 63 New Road Chatham and her mother was Ellen JENNINGS.  Emma had 5 brothers and 1 sister all of whom bar one stayed in the Kent area.  Her brother Albert died in Willesden.  If Emma had died in Chatham is there any way of tracing a burial record online and which cemetery/cemeteries would be the most likely to have been involved? Thank you in advance for any assistance or advice you are able to offer.  Ljay

Lanarkshire / James WATT born 1916 birth record - father William Commercial Traveller
« on: Wednesday 20 February 13 13:25 GMT (UK)  »
Would be very grateful for any information on the birth of James WATT in 1916. From James' marriage record I have ascertained that his father was William WATT who was a Commercial Traveller.  Initial information was a birth in Scotland (there appear to be 12 in 1916) but four of those are in Lanarkshire (1 Holytown, 1 Dalziel, 1 Cambusnethan and 1 Coatsbridge or Old Monkland) and I wondered if there was any way of checking if a William is listed as the father on any of them.  I have no knowledge of any siblings for James unfortunately and am therefore left with a process of elimination before the expense of obtaining certificates.  Any advice or information very much appreciated and thanks for taking the time to consider this request. Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / 17 Station Road UD Rotherham 1948
« on: Wednesday 07 March 12 12:48 GMT (UK)  »
Would be grateful if anyone is able to advise whether the above address was some sort of care home/workhouse in 1948.  It has turned up on a death certificate as the place of death and where the informant is listed as a 'W Bartholomew Causing the body to be buried Devonshire Road Rotherham'.  I am assuming, rightly or wrongly, that perhaps W Bartholomew may have been the person in charge at Station Road or perhaps an undertaker.  The latest Googlemaps does show a funeral director located in Station Road next door to a very large building which I think was possibly at the location in 1948.  I have not come across the term used in the informant box before so would appreciate any further information.  Thank you for your time and any assistance you are able to offer. Wiltshire / Death record James BOND Mayor of Swindon 1950-51
« on: Wednesday 24 November 10 20:48 GMT (UK)  »
I would be very grateful if someone would please be able to advise me of the death date for James BOND who was the Mayor of Swindon 1950-51.  I have no date of birth for him but judging by the Pathe News film taken when Princess Elizabeth visited the town I would think as a very rough estimate he was probably born c1900.  I am hoping to trace an obituary giving other family members.  Any information on him would be appreciated and thank you in advance for your time and efforts.  Ljay
