Dorset / Isaac family, Dorset - probably Pimperne
« on: Monday 24 February 14 15:20 GMT (UK) »
My 3x-great-grandparents were Joseph Purkis and Ann Isaac(s).
Ann's baptismal details:
14th October 1787
St Thomas, Portsmouth
Father: Joseph Isaacs
Mother: Frances
I believe this was the marriage of Joseph and Frances Isaac:
Joseph ISAACK & Frances CHARLES 2 November 1778
Affpuddle, Dorset
One of the witnesses was Thomas Isaac.
I found these baptisms at Pimperne:
Samuel Isaac 25 April 1737
Thomas 10 September 1739
Joseph 28 December 1741
Parents for the three boys : William and Martha Isaac
Thomas Isaac married Mary Fudge on 5th November 1767, also at Affpuddle.
It looks as though William was married before:
Name: William Isaac
Event Type: Marriage
Event Date: 30 Dec 1728
Parish: Pimperne
Spouse's Name: Ann Selby
These sons:
William 5 April 1730
Abraham 4 February 1733
Ann Isaac was buried 3 Mar 1733, so she died just after Abraham's birth.
Any further details on the Isaacs would be welcome.
I also found this on the TNA site:
William Isaac, labourer, Martha his wife and Ann, Samuel, Thomas and Joseph their children. Place of settlement Pimperne PE/PIM/OV 2/1/1 8 Oct 1742
These documents are held at Dorset History Centre
