Family History Beginners Board / Residence at Time Of Marriage
« on: Tuesday 30 November 04 10:08 GMT (UK)  »
During my research, I have come across several marriage certificates which give the same address for the bride and groom prior to marriage. On at least 2 occaisions I know this to be untrue - they did not share the same address.

Can anyone suggest why the same address might be recorded for both of them? Also is there any significance to those certificates that show a road name, but no actual address?

Many thanks in advance

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1841 Lookup - Liverpool (Moody)
« on: Tuesday 30 November 04 10:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there.
I have a marriage certificate for John Cunningham and Elizabeth Moody dated 27/4/1842, Which states that prior to marriage they were both resident in Pall Mall, Liverpool.
Elizabeth's father was Peter Moody, a Coppersmith.

Would it be possible with that information for some kind soul to do a search of the 1841 census to see if I can find out what the Pall Mall address was?

Many thanks

I have a birth certificate for Thomas Cunningham (Son of John and Elizabeth) in April 1852, with the adress given as "Almond Street" which I believe is in the Mount Pleasant district.

I'd appreciate it if someone could lookup the street for me to see if they can find an entry for the Cunningham family in the 1851 census.

Many thanks in advance

Lancashire Completed Lookup Requests / 1871 Lookup Liverpool (Cunningham/Horan)
« on: Sunday 14 November 04 18:18 GMT (UK)  »
I have a couple of lookup requests for the 1871 Liverpool census if someone can help.

1. I have a wedding certificate for Thomas Cunningham and Jane Horan in 1874 which gives both their addres at time of marriage as Fox St (Liverpool).
Would it be possible for someone to look in the 1871 for Fox Street (no other details I'm afraid) to see details of either family (I'm assuming it will be the Horan's but who knows?)

2. In the 1881 census, Thomas' father (John Cunningham) was living in 5 Burnet(t) Street., Liverpool.
Can you see if that was the case in 1871 too?

Many thanks in advance

Family History Beginners Board / Certificate Sub districts - What are they?
« on: Friday 05 November 04 10:18 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me what the Sub Districts (as stated on certificates) relates to? Is it church parishes, political wards or what?

Can I use the Sub District as shown on a Death Certificate to try to find the grave site of an ancestor. If not, how might I find reference for such a site?

Thanks in advance

Lancashire / Pub Landlords/Landladies
« on: Friday 05 November 04 09:46 GMT (UK)  »
I have a relation running a pub in Liverpool at the time of the 1901 Census. Does anyone know if there is a central resource (or any other type of resource) for looking at things like licences, brewery records etc so that i can try to flesh it out a bit? I don't know the name of the brewery but I know the pub is now called the Mere Bank but at one time prior to 1901 was called the Pizzanania.

many thanks

Hi there,
I'm new to this board so please exuse (and point out) any etiquette errors on my part!

I'm hoping that some kind person will help me with an 1841 census lookup for Thomas CUNNINGHAM.
I know he was married in 1845 to Elizabeth MOODY in Liverpool
His age is only shown as 'Full' and I believe the family to have been in Liverpool long before that.

While I'm at it, an 1851 lookup for the 'new' family would also be useful!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks in advance (and I hope I'm doing this right ???).
