Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / CRANSTON, Alfred and Hannah - Ship To America
« on: Saturday 24 January 15 21:55 GMT (UK)  »
Would someone be able to help me find this couple's departure to America?

Their first child Charles was born in Hertford in 1853.

Their second child Alfred Henry was born in New York in 1855.

So they sailed probably in 1854.

Shropshire Completed Look up Requests / *COMPLETED* 1901 Census - SIMMONS
« on: Thursday 02 September 10 16:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Would someone please look up this family for me in the 1901 census?  Their last name is sometimes spelled Simmons and sometimes Simmonds.

1891 Census:
Edgmond, Shropshire
George Simmonds Head M 72 Agricultural Labourer Salop Cherrington
Sarah do Wife M 62 Salop Edgmond
Matthew do Son M 25 Agricultural Labourer Salop Edgmond
Mary Ann do Daur in Law M 23 Salop Cheswardine
Ernest Luke do Grand Son 10 months Salop Edgmond
William Pindon ? Grand Son 8 Scholar Salop Newport
Newport RG12/2134 Folio 86 Page 14

George Simmonds has possibly died before 1901, so it may be just Sarah Simmons.  Matthew, Mary Ann, and Ernest Luke have moved to their own place.

Thanks a bunch,

Hi,
Wondering if Cancan or anyone else is going to the Manchester Central Library again and would do a few lookups/photocopies?  If so, how would I go about paying for them?

Here's what I'm hoping for:

Goldsmith, Samuel & Adams, Elizabeth marriage entry - Jan 4, 1819 St. Mary, Stockport
Goldsmith, Robert & Marsden, Esther marriage entry - Dec. 9, 1788 Cathedral, Manchester

Goldsmith, Samuel baptism entry 1806 St. Chad's Romily, Cheshire
Goldsmith, George baptism entry Apr 14, 1819 Hayfield, Derby

Fingers crossed,

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / *COMPLETED* GERRARD - 1851 census
« on: Thursday 08 July 10 18:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for Frances Lavinia (or Levina) Gerrard, born 1833 in Longton, Staffordshire.  She was in Staffordshire in 1841 (8 yrs. old) with a governess, Anne Vernon.  But she's not there in 1851.
Frances married George William Blackwell at Macclesfield in 1861, and after he died in 1869, she married William Bostock in Prestbury, St. Peter in 1878.  So she lived in Cheshire for quite a number of years.
I'm guessing perhaps she was in Cheshire in 1851?
Thanks,
cassiar

« on: Thursday 08 July 10 16:43 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for the 1851 census listing for:

Gerrard, Frances Lavinia born 1833 Longton Staff.  In 1841 she was with the Vernon family (with a governess) in Hanley, Stoke (8 yrs. old).  I'm hoping to find out where she is in 1851.  In 1861 she is in Macclesfield with her husband George Blackwell (married 1861).

and

Gerrard, John James born c.1834 Longton Staff.  In 1841 he was with George and Harriet Goldsmith (Harriet was his mother).  He's not with them in 1851.  He is at Rushton Spencer in 1861.

Thank you,

cassiar
