Antrim / White Abbey Hospice, 32 Crumlin Road
« on: Wednesday 10 November 10 21:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether records for patients can be obtained for the White Abbey Hospice?

I have a death certificate for who I believe to be my great aunt who died at the hospice in 1914 aged 10 years. Her name was Annie Taggart and unfortunately there are no details of her parents on the death certificate other than her father was a labourer (which is correct).

She was not living with the family at the time of the 1911 census. I have searched the 1911 census, particularly in Crumlin Road, but cannot find her.

Any suggestions as to where to look next would be most welcome.

Thanks

Antrim Completed Look up Requests / Early 20th Century Birth and Death records
« on: Thursday 26 August 10 13:34 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Can anyone suggest a reference source for births and deaths in Antrim/Down between 1900 and 1915.

On the 1911 census I have identified siblings of my grandparents (both born in Belfast) who were born and died during this period.

Many thanks

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Frederick John Yeates
« on: Wednesday 26 May 10 12:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Can anyone help me solve a mystery?

I know my great grandfather Frederick John Yeates was born in Blackrock, Dublin c1875.
The 1881 English census shows him as John Yates aged 6 born Dublin living in Liverpool with his father Frederick (born Dublin) his mother Gertrude born Liverpool, his 4 year old sister Marion and 1 year old brother Arthur.

I can find no trace of Frederick in the 1891 and 1901 English census. I have found Marion and Arthur living with relatives in 1891 (surname incorrectly spelt ‘Yates’).

I have searched using both names Frederick and John and all variation of the surname spelling.

The options I am left with are that he was either at sea (although he was a glass bottle maker when he married in Liverpool in 1902) or maybe he had temporarily gone to Ireland or elsewhere?  Has anyone any suggestions as to where I can take my search from here?

Thanks

Dublin / Yeates Family from Dublin
« on: Monday 04 January 10 09:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I’m looking for connections to the Yeates family from Dublin who originated from Balscadden. I am particularly interested in any details relating to the following line:

Andrew Yeates b c1699

Andrew Yeates born Balscaden, Whitestown, Co. Dublin 1735

Kendrick Yeates born Dublin 1776

Talbot Falkner Yeates born Dublin 1812

Thomas Goldrick Yeates born Dublin c1833

I am a descendant of Thomas’ younger brother Frederick. Through connections I have made with distant relatives in Australia I have a comprehensive family tree but would like to know if there are any Yeates’ left in Dublin to whom I am distantly related.

Many thanks

Clare / Kenealy family from Killaloe
« on: Monday 02 November 09 08:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I’m looking for the Kenealy family in Killaloe.

I have an ancestor named Martin Kenealy born c1818. I have found another Martin Kenealy born 1836 in the 1861 census records in England who is possibly the son of Martin born 1818 from his first marriage. Martin junior was born Killaloe.

Does anyone know if any parish records exist for Killaloe from around 1835? If I could kind Martin junior I could maybe establish whether Marin senior is the ancestor I’m looking for.

Thanks

Donegal / McGarrigle/McKearney in Donegal
« on: Friday 23 October 09 13:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm looking for information about the McGarrigle and McKearney famalies from Donegal.

My great-great grandfather was John McGarrigle born in Ramelton, Donegal around 1839. His occupation was that of whitesmith.

He married Sarah McKearney, born around 1836, from Donegal. I have no marriage details for them but believe they moved to Liverpool in the 1860s or 1870s.

I would be gratefully for any information/links.

Thanks

Antrim / Stewart Family

I'm looking for family details of the Stewart family of Antrim

My great-grandmother was Elizabeth Stewart born Antrim between 1875 and 1878 (these dates derived from her marriage certificate and 1911 census record). I've not been able to locate her birth details.

Her father was Bernard Stewart. I have no details for her mother.

Any suggestions about where to search would be greatly appreciated.
