Flintshire Lookup Requests / Robert Jones
« on: Friday 16 March 12 20:49 GMT (UK)  »
Not sure if anyone can help but here goes,

My Great Grandmother was Ann Jones b1857 Mold Flintshire Wales, she marries Matthew Worthington in Wigan Lancashire in 1876 they then move to Crook Co Durham in the 1881 and 1891 census records.

I have her marriage cert which states her father is Robert Jones (deceased) coal miner, the two witnesses are from the Worthington family.

I can not find her in the 1871 census and the only one which seems to match in the 1861 census is,

Robert Jones              b1808 Cilcen Flintshire

Elizabeth Jones           b1812 Northop Flintshire

John Jones                 b1839 Mold Flintshire
Thomas Jones            b1850  Gwernaffield
Robert                       b1853  ""
Ann Jones                  b1856  ""

This seems to fit, any ideas anyone,

thanks

Paul

« on: Wednesday 17 March 10 22:11 GMT (UK)  »

Has anyone got any more information on the following,

I have John Cutler born ? where?, he marries Hannah Parkin born ? where ?, they are married at Alfreton in 1772, I have a possible child for them in 1777 called John but after that I have no burials/death for either of them, no date of birth or bpt for either d no further children.

I have been stuck with this for years, Its just in case anyone has a Parkin or Cutler which might fit, I guess both may have been born about 1750 ?? ???

Derbyshire Completed Look ups / Wesleyan Methodist Chapel at Duffield
« on: Wednesday 17 March 10 13:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I would appreciate any thoughts on this,

I originally found the following,

Alfreton Parish Church, Bpts 1813-40

Apr.3 1825  Hannah d. Thomas & Mary Cutler Riddings Collier.

but in an earlier record I found the following,

Wesleyan Methodist Chapel at Duffield

28th October 1823 Hannah Cutler...........Father  Thomas (Collier) Mother Mary living in Riddings.

and then this

25th April 1819  William Cutler .............Father Thomas  (Collier) Mother Sarah living in Riddings.

looking on th IGI

HANNAH CUTLER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 22 OCT 1823 Wesleyan Methodist, Belper, Derby, England
Parents Thomas and Mary

HANNAH CUTLER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: OCT 1823 South Normanton, Derby, England
Parents Thomas and Sarah

anyone got any ideas?
Could it be that Thomas and Mary first had Hannah bapt in the Methodist church then changed denomination and had her bapt again in Alfreton?

And who is Thomas and Sarah?

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Cutler DNA
« on: Sunday 14 February 10 17:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi my name is

Paul Cutler, just wondering if you know any male Cutlers?,

the reason I ask is that I am trying to start a project for the DNA testing of Cutlers in the UK to see if there are any links further back past the paper trails.
My own line are in the midands around the Derbyshire/Nottingham borders but I am sure they moved around quite a bit, eventually living in the North East of England.

Several Cutler families moved to the USA and setled there, some in the 1600's.
I have had my own DNA tested and to date it does not match with anyone, the closest is a Mills surname, which itself is interesting.

If you know anyone that may be interested please pass on my details and I will be happy to discuss it with them. Obviously there is a cost to this so any participant must fund their own test.

It would have to be a male with a direct line back to Cutler surname ancestors as the Y chromsome is passed father to son down the years.

Any thoughts or comments welcome.

best wishes

Paul Cutler
