Hi,

Does anyone know if the death of an American airforceman would be shown in the GRO deaths if he was serving at RAF Alconbury in Cambridgeshire.  I have very limited information on this person, so it means trawling through every quarter of the GRO deaths to see if anything is familiar.  I wondered if, as he was not British and under British jurisdiction, the US would deal with any death as an internal matter and would not appear in the UK registers.

I haven't researched my Berkeley relatives for a long so went to use Scribes Alcove and it isn't there any more.  Anyone know what has happened to it please.

I am not sure which heading this topic would come under but I am researching the family tree for a friend and have come up against a brick wall as I don't know where to look for the information.

Her grandfather was of German parents probably Jewish and at the outbreak of war 1914 he was taken away from the family and it is presumed sent back to Germany.  Does anyone know of a site that would have this information or does anyone know what was the likely outcome of this action for him and other non British persons.

He was Henry William ROSE born about 1875 Germany and married Agnes NOONAN in 1897 at St Giles London.

I am not expecting to find him but would be interested to find out if there are lists of such deportations/internments.

Has something changed with Wiltshire OPC site?

I tried accessing it today and put in my user name and password and it came back as not recognising it, so I went to forgot password and user name and typed in my e-mail address as usual (hasn't changed in 18 years at least) and it came back as no such e-mail address on the site.  I have been a member for at least 3 years, so don't understand it.  I then thought I would re-register but there is nowhere to do so, I then found the contact us button and I thought 'great' so went to it and then found that I had to sign in to use that section of the site.  I have spent nearly an hour trying everything I can but can't get in.  Nice Welcome page though.

I can access the individual parishes but cannot understand why I can't log in.

Please can  anyone help me with a look-up for a marriage at St Marks, Victoria Park, Bow.  As far as I can determine the marraige date I have been given was  23rd December 1928.  The banns were read 9th, 16th and 23rd December 1928 but I am not sure the marriage took place the same day as the last calling.  The peole concerned were Stanley Edward BIRD and Sarah Caroline GALE.  The details I am most interested in are the fathers' names and occupations as well as that of the groom.  Well, all of it really.
