One Name Studies: T to Z / WHITNEY

Unofficial one name study website for all variations of the WHITNEY family.

The Whitney Research Group is an informal group of individuals interested in the scholarly research of Whitney families around the world and throughout history. The site presently contains over 4,200 Whitney family group pages, over 5,500 extracted sources of Whitney material including census records, books, periodicals, probate records, vital records, court documents, etc. The site has strong U.S. participation and record coverage, but we're currently working to expand our information for England, Wales, and Ireland. Over 100 court cases and other records from the (U.K.) National Archives and dozens of PCC Wills have thus far been obtained.
It is also the home of the Whitney DNA Project - all Whitneys are encouraged to participate in this DNA study so we can obtain a better understanding of the various Whitney families.
