Technical Help / Downloading from Ancestry - Blank document what did I do wrong ?
« on: Monday 22 February 16 17:52 GMT (UK)  »
 :) Hi,
Took the free access to Ancestry this weekend--AND I BELIEVE  I found my Alexander Robinson-  WORLD WAR 1   record,---sooo excited,it did not allow me to print docs but said download, which I did.
Now I have downloads that have NOTHING in them.(just blank screen) :o

Is this deliberate-or did I screw up?
I stupidly did not make many notes-as I thought the docs would be there for me to continue my research.
So more or less back to square one ::)

Would be interested to know if this has happened to anyone else.
Thanks

She has been told he emigrated to Oz about 1966/8- --sorry guys I do not at this moment know any more, and I have no idea how to trace family in Oz
Samuel had left his uk family- by that time -and it is believed had another relationship (not sure if he married again.

Alexander Harold Robinson--died 20 June 1958-( born approx 1896 N Ireland )in Brownlow hill hospital.
Anyone have a clue where he might have been buried??
He was born in N Ireland--and married   in Presbyterian church--so COI I expect--BUT lived with Dorothy Olive?  in Liverpool  AND HAD FURTHER children

Only other info I CAN GIVE- he had  run a pawnshop business in old Swan-- and have just the address of that-no other info  regarding that sadly.
Many Thanks for any help

Tyrone / Sorry--Alexander Robinson--Again
« on: Tuesday 18 November 14 18:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Some confusing info I have received re my grandfather Alexander ( Harold) Robinson born approx 1896-  I believe Co Tyrone ? to mother MARGARET Robinson--family stems from Irwins.-or so I was led to believe .
A relative has had a genealogy report- that has birth cert for Alexander(-and she was present at birth) !sadly very short 36  hrs!!--but it brings forth the name Mitcheltrees- for the  his grandmother (Rebecca )not sure of this spelling-WHEN i WAS almost   CONVINCED IT WAS iRWIN-(IRWEN)
Is anyone able to add to this info-please.
Also-after many-many searches re Alexanmders alleged  career as B Special???--there are no records to back this up--WHY???
How strange is this--as I have--and I am quite happy to put a picture of Alexander in uniform UP --that seemingly cannot be confirmed as---RUC/RIC--.
FOR ME VERY FRUSTRATING! Uniform is complete-apart from so called webbing!
So why is there no record of this man!!? anywhere.
Also-he died in 1958 in Liverpool----seems there is no record of his burial place.
Ok so lots of questions---this man I have been told was--Sniper--and a very Special B?? Special--would records be withheld?
Would be so grateful for any thoughts on this xx

Antrim / James Bates-Jacqueline Reid
« on: Sunday 16 December 12 18:24 GMT (UK)  »
:)Hello,from Brittany.

I wonder if anyone could help please.
I have an elderly Aunt, who dearly wants to know where a relative and daughter are buried in Antrim,I believe it would be in the main cemetery in Antrim.
James Bates died between  2002/2008, his sister was Kathleen Costello died 2012.
His daughter Jacqueline Reid,as far as I can gather probably 2007/8.
There had been some family problems--so there was a split, and family moved from Lowestoft to Antrim.
I know it's a big ask--but if anyone could help-or point in right direction, would give an old lady some peace.
Thank You

Elsa-Mary
