Lanarkshire / Warnock, East Kilbride
« on: Sunday 05 April 09 20:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Has anyone out there researched the Warnock Family who originated from East Kilbride? One of my anscestors was William Warnock born 7 Mar. 1757. He married an Ann Smith who was born in 1764. I know little about her. I am looking to confirm Williams anscestors, I think his parents were James Warnock who was married to a Mary Ritchie (Richie). I also believe James parents to be William Warnock who was married to Margaret Alexander but can anyone confirm this? Do you know where they were buried?

Would appeciate any help

Thanks

Dumfriesshire / Canonbie - Graham/Tidman/Beattie/Borthwick
« on: Saturday 07 March 09 20:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am looking for any information on my wife’s family who came originated from Gilnokie Tower Cottage, Canonbie. My wife’s Great Grandfather was a James Graham (DOB Abt 1831). He died on 27 Jun. 1887. His spouse was Mary McIntosh (DOB Abt 1842). She died Abt 1883. Both died at Canonbie but on a recent visit to the cemetery I could not locate their gravestone (or any other members of the family). There are many many stones - does anyone have the memorial records?
Also in this cemetery could be her Great Great Grandparents who were Alexander Graham (died 5 Sep 1883) and his wife Agnes nee Tidman, She died on 28 May 1877. Any info on the Tidmans (Tidemans) would be helpful. I think Robet was the father who married Elizabeth Beattie but I am not sure. I also believe Alexander Grahams parents were James who married Isabella Borthwick at Westerkirk in 1792. If anyone has any further information on this family it would be great to hear from you.
Cheers

« on: Saturday 07 March 09 19:58 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Looking for any information on my wife’s family who came originated from Closeburn. My wife’s Grandfather was a Robert Lamont (DOB 6/2/1873). He died on 5 Feb. 1936. His spouse was Janet Smith (DOB 7/8/1872). She died on 16 Feb. 1943. Both died at Closeburn but on a recent visit to the cemetery I could not locate their gravestone (or any other family). Does anyone have the memorial records?
Although I have a fair few of the Lamont ancestors I have little on Janet Smith’s history. I believe her parents were Peter Smith who married a Jessie Irvine. I know little else about them. Any clues would be most welcome.
Cheers

Oxfordshire / Currill & Ward, Oxfordshire
« on: Saturday 07 February 09 20:58 GMT (UK)  »
Further to my previous post I would also be grateful for any guidance on the Currill and Ward families who came from Oxfordshire. I know John Currill married a Sarah Trafford on 11 Apr 1825. John was born about 1799 but I know little else other than he died on 28 Feb. 1868. His son John Norris Currill married Emma Ward at Headington on Dec 1847. I think she was born about 1833 and died about 1902 but I know nothing about her family. Any help would be great.

Thank You
