« on: Wednesday 28 August 24 20:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I have a very long thread in the London section called Lloyd London Mystery, its about 10 years in the making, but I have just found a person (or 2) that I need help with,
i have posted it on that thread but no one has looked so wondered if I could ask here ?
The main people in that thread are John Ballard Lloyd and his partner Lavinia Ann Cheatham and I have found a child called Lavinia Ann Ballard Lloyd (and her brother James Ballard Lloyd) by William Lloyd and Elizabeth nee Tomlin

i have found a baptism for a Devinia Ann Ballard Lloyd which grabbed my attention and I got her digital birth and death certs ,  theres obviously been a mistake in the spelling of her name , her mother could only sign with a cross so ...
anyway heres all the info,
birth cert,
Lavinia Ann Ballard Lloyd 27th july 1885,
91 Ancill street, Fulham,
father William Lloyd, Mat Weaver
mother Elizabeth Lloyd , Formerly Tomlin.

Baptism
14th Oct 1885 at st Andrews west kensington , Fulham
born 25th july 1885
Devinia Ann Ballard Lloyd
William and Elizabeth Lloyd
wheeler
91 Bayonne road, Fulham

Death
4th Nov 1886 aged 16 mths
Devinia Ann Ballard Lloyd
daughter of William Lloyd Matting Weaver
91 Bayonne road Fulham
cant read what she died of

so is she named after Lavinia Ann (cheatham) Lloyd and John Ballard Lloyd ???
I cant find any marrige of William to Elizabeth Tomlin
and I can't find any William Lloyd connected to any of my Lloyds ???
any idea

thanks
Andria

Armed Forces / Prisoner of War name mystery
« on: Sunday 23 September 18 13:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
We are looking into a personal family mystery, that I can't go into, but it involves a man called
Percy Leonard Gee (junior)
We have found out that he ended up as a Japanese prisoner of war and died in the Takuri Camp on
9th august 1945 aged 34, but on his memorial and in lists of people who have  died etc it says
Percy Leonard Gee served as L.BDR John Lawrence Smith, which is rather strange ,
so wondered if anyone could tell if this is a common thing or if there is a reason for this ?
details we already know,
born 26th july 1911
lived with parents in 1934 in Ingrow, Keighley (not there in 1935)
was in 9th coast regt. Royal artillery, number  1426858
captured 15th feb 1942
thanks :)

The Common Room / London Met Archives no Images?
« on: Thursday 12 October 17 15:02 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of the images are missing ?
I've noticed it in the marriages, a lot of the ones I have saved are all saying no image, yet i am sure they used to be there, as it was how I could prove they were the right marriages as there was the picture with the full names address etc   ???
sorry forgot to say this is on Ancestry
