World War One / Daniel Stewart Macdonald
« on: Tuesday 31 October 17 13:27 GMT (UK)  »
Remembering all who have fallen in conflict especially Daniel Stewart Macdonald son of Daniel Stewart Macdonald and his wife Janet McNab, Daniel was  killed on 18th February 1917 on the Somme. As he and his parents and siblings  lived in the Glasgow area I'm sure he would have joined a Scottish regiment. I am hoping to find any relatives of my Gt Uncle Daniel or descendants of his siblings who might be able to give me details about him regarding family etc. what regiment he was in, any details at all would be welcome. I have not been able to trace him on any of the war records so any information would be welcome.
Many thanks Colin Macdonald.

Hi, I have a lair number for my Great Grandfathers Grave in Riddrie Cemetery Lair number is A9026
Daniel Stewart Macdonald age 74 is buried in this lair along with what I think might be his married daughter Elizabeth Crawford age 45 and Alex J Crawford age 9 and Jean Kerr or Keir Crawford age 33. Does any kind person know where this lair might be and could take pictures of the headstone, I have no idea where in the cemetery this lair is so anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Lancashire / Robinson family descendants, Manchester late 1800s/early 1900s
« on: Friday 04 July 14 14:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am hoping to trace descendants of James Francis Yale Robinson and his wife Constance Annie ? who had 6 children, Francis, Constance Annie, Ernest Alexander, Herbie Albertha, Edith Blanche, Edna. Francis and Constance were born in Middlesborough and their other children were born in Manchester all born between 1882 and 1910. I am descended from Herbie and am hoping to make contact with descendants from the other children to fill in family history details. So if anyone who knows of these family descendants and could give me any details I would really appreciate their help.
Many thanks

Hi, is there anyone who reads this and lives close to Riddrie Cemetery that would be willing to do me a big favour and take pictures of the gravestone both of the stone and one of the inscription where my Grand Mother and Grandfather are buried. Their names are Robert Gillespie died 8th January 1923 and Alice Ann (Annie) Gillespie nee Davies, who died on 6th January 1946, they are buried in Compartment G, Lair 939. Hoping that some one will be able to help me out by doing this.
Many thanks.

Lanarkshire / Charles Stewart Macdonald born 1896 Glasgow
« on: Thursday 09 August 12 01:49 BST (UK)  »
I am hoping to find descendants of Charles Stewart Macdonald born 1896 in Hutchesontown Glasgow and his wife Ruby Margaret Kilgour Meldrum born 1896 in Kinning Park Glasgow, my Grandfather Robert Liddell Macdonald was a brother of Charles.
The father of Charles and Robert was Daniel Stewart Macdonald and his wife was Janet McNab, I discovered they had 11 children while working on a family tree and I now have their birth details so it would be nice to find any long lost and unknown family descendants to exchange family details etc, hoping this message brings me success.

« on: Sunday 06 February 11 23:29 GMT (UK)  »
I am hoping I can trace descendants of Ann Davies who was born in Canon Pyon 1825 and who died in Weobley 1929 age 104, Ann was married to Henry Davies and as far as I know they had 6 of a family - Charles - Clara - William - John - Elizabeth - and Alice Annie, there was a daughter Mrs William Gibbons still living in Weobley in 1929, Alice Annie known as Annie moved to Glasgow and married Robert Gillespie, Annie was my Grandmother.

I would like to find descendants of Henry and Ann who with a bit of luck may still be living in Herefordshire or surrounding counties, if anyone knows of the family's please get in touch as I have pictures of Ann and family they might like to see.

Graveyards and Gravestones / Looking for family gravestone in Cathcart cemetery
« on: Friday 04 February 11 00:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I am hoping some one can give details or advice to help me find the location of my Grand Mother and Grandfathers grave in Cathcart cemetery, I do not know the lair number or area within the cemetery, if I can get the details I would try and find some one who could take a picture of the head stone.

My Grandmother Herbie Macdonald nee Robinson died on the 6th March 1936 and was buried in Cathcart cemetery and my Grandfather Robert Liddell Macdonald died on 15th January 1951 and was buried in the same lair.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
Many thanks
