as far as I know, when he was younger he had mousy coloured hair and pale grey/blue eyes.

Hi,

Can anyone help with this pic of my Grt Uncle Jack?

He served aboard HMS Ramillies during WW2 (and survived the war)

Although I know it's the navy, did they have different regiments like the army??

Not sure on the uniform colour...have posted it on the armed forces board to see if they can identify the uniform.  Know it's the navy and he served on HMS Ramillies during WW2.

Could you clean it up (it seems to have a crease line)

Hi

Found this one in a loft today and would like advice on dating it.  Also could it be cleaned and a colour one too?  :)

I tried to scan at 300dpi, but file too big so its been scanned at 230dpi.  The original is on a peice of brown board, but could have been stuck on later I guess??  It does look as though it's part of the board though as the paper is so thin.
original size 25cm x 17.5cm

Armed Forces / Uniform help

Hi,

Can anyone help with this uniform.  Other people in the general section were very helpful and advised me to place it here  :)            They think it is WW1 and possibly Lancashire badge, but I'm now wondering if it's the Royal Warwickshires?

Did mene generally go with a local regiment as the 2 families this photo could come from are from Worcestershire, Yorkshire, Warwickshire areas, however they were all in Warwick at the time of WW1.

this has been brilliantly cleaned up by Xinia and it's thought to be The Lancashire Regiment.  Since then i've check the family tree and wondered if its the Warwickshire regiment as the top looks a bit like a head of an animal...or a swan ;D
