Lancashire / Waterloo Train Station

Hi,

I have an interest in Waterloo train station and was hoping if anybody could give me some information about the station. I would like to know if any of the 1867 station remains, rails,steps, tiles or such? I know this is a tall order and I might have to travel to a research library but here is hoping!!

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Burial Liverpool Look Up

Hi,
I am hoping someone can do a look up for me please. I have been making enquiries about finding a grave in Liverpool. Apparently I can pay for a look up or I can go to the Central Library Record Office and look up myself for free. I do not live near Liverpool so I am hoping if anybody is going to a central library they could have a look and see where one of  my great grandfathers is buried please.

 On the census it states that my ancestor was  Landed Proprietor; I know this might be a fabrication as people used to do on the census. If indeed he did own some land/house would there be records of what he did own? Could these be found by only knowing his name and address if so? I do not have his will but I know he left under £600 in 1867.

Could anybody please tell me if the Railway Hotel Waterloo is still there please? I have looked at Goole maps and there is a pub on Brighton Road called ''the Railway" but I am not sure if that is the one I am looking for. The hotel I am looking for was trading in 1867. I have a Death Certificate that states my gt gt gt gt gt grandfather died in this hotel after being hit by a train!

Any help would be gratefully received as I am going up to Liverpool next month and if the hotel is still there would like to visit it. Thank you atticus

Hi,
I am hoping if someone could point me in the right direction please. I have found a James Lees  who died in WW1 on 27 april 1915 on Ancestry and I believe he is my ancestor. There is a record stating the above on CWGC they have him down has being 37 and married to a Mary living Maynard Street Liverpool; my ancestor married a Mary. I have  part of a letter from my James to his brother Jonathan which states the following details :

James Lees
4 Kings Liverpool
 Regt No 9149 D Company
No 13  Platoon British expeditionary force

On Ancestry and CWGC it has his number as 4249 slightly different.  Is this my man and where could I find my information please ?I cannot find a service record.

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me find some records for Bluntisham Public Elementary School. I am trying to find some information on a school  master called Ernest Claxton born 1883. I found a record in the Historical Directories stating that Ernest worked at the above school in 1914 and would like to find out more about him if at all possible.

Hi,
I have posted a photo on the Armed Forces forum to see if they can identify an uniform but they have suggested you may be able to date the photo by the photographer. Any help would be great.

The photographer I believe is S Dhunjeebhoy and the town/city on the photo is Trimulgherry India.
