Occupation Interests / Occupation Foreign Correspondent

Hello
I hope someone can help me.
I see someone who worked for the large engineering firm Vickers being described as a foreign correspondent.  I immediately think of them being a reporter but what would it mean in this situation? Was that name given to people who dealt with overseas companies/clients?  Would they speak several languages etc?
Thank you for any help.

Hello
I wonder if someone can help.

James Fogg died in 1875 aged 0.  The only information I can find is in the England & Wales deaths Mar 1875 Worcester.  Can anyone see a burial record for him and if so, where was he buried and does it give his parents' names?

Thank you for reading this and I appreciate any help.

Oxfordshire / Richard Wyatt marriage enquiry
« on: Thursday 22 January 15 10:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me.  I am trying to find a marriage between Richard Wyatt and Martha.  All I know is there were two children born in 1807 and 1811 in Brightwell Baldwin Oxfordshire.  I can't find any other births so would expect Richard and Martha to be married sometime between 1800 and 1807 in the Oxfordshire area (although I might be wrong).
Thank you for reading this and for any help you have.

Armed Forces / 56th Regiment of Foot in Jamaica
« on: Sunday 26 October 14 12:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I had been wondering why someone in my tree (George Green) had two children born in Jamaica.  I just came across a baptism record for one of his children born in England.  He is described as being a Private in the 56th Regiment of Foot.  Looking up the movements of the 56th, I found that they were in Jamaica in the 1830's when the two children were born.  My question is, as a Private, would his wife have travelled to Jamaica with him or is it more likely he met someone whilst he was there?  I have no idea about family travelling with soldiers at that time.  I haven't been able to find a marriage in Jamaica, but have tentatively found two baptisms of children that would fit.
Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Gloucestershire / Thomas Claridge and Elizabeth Stratford
« on: Thursday 08 May 14 17:12 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I am trying to confirm who the parents of Thomas Claridge and Elizabeth Stratford are.  They married in 1785 in Miserden.  According to the 1851 census, Elizabeth was born around 1762. They lived in Painswick when married.  I don't know if the marriage records would show the parents' names.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Lancashire / Cleminson in Lancaster

Hello
I am looking for a marriage between William Cleminson and Rebecca.  They appear to have had children in Lancaster in the years 1781, 1783 and 1790.  I can't find a marriage that would fit these dates.  Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Devon / BROCKENSHAW or BROCKENSHIRE
« on: Sunday 21 April 13 14:18 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I am looking for a birth record of a William Brockenshaw/Brockenshire/Brockinshire.  On census forms he seems to have been born in Clifton, Devon around 1821.  On one form it says Lifton, Devon but on two others Clifton.  There appear to be many families in Cornwall but I can't find anyone of this name born around the right time.
Thank you for any help!

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / William Lane marriage Gloucestershire
« on: Monday 28 March 11 12:52 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I was wondering if anyone could find a marriage for a William Lane to Sarah possibly around 1816.  He was from Haresfield and Sarah was from Miserden.

I have seen suggestions of a name for Sarah, but there is no definite marriage date.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.
