London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Ponders End Electoral Roll Look Up Query 1890-1896

Hiya
Trying to find family for Kathleen Smith who lived at 13 Nelson Road,  Ponders End in early1896. Where can I find electoral roll details please? Her father was Frederick Smith and had died by the time she married in Feb 1896.

Any help would be great - thanks.

Hi All

Would be really grateful if anyone could help me shed some light on my Great Grandad as I am really struggling:

This is what I know:

Born:  Abt 1890
Parents:  Father was Albert - a Farm Labourer (from marriage cert)
1911 Census:  Boarding in Reading aged 22 (Bright Street)
Marriage:  To Hannah Clark 24th August 1912 at St. Marys in Reading
Death:  Between Jan 1917 (last child born Oct 1917) and Dec 1921 (Hannah remarried in 1921 to Joseph Kirby)

Would really love to know where he came from and how and when he died.

Any help really appreciated!

Family History Beginners Board / Old School House, Enfield

Hi All

I am looking at an 1890 census for Frederick Smith and his wife Isabelle and family and hope that
I can tie them in to my tree.  However, I am struggling to work out where in Enfield their address was - all it says is Old School House, Enfield - Parish of St James.  Lots of other families lived there too so I am confused as to where this building was/is. 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Essex Lookup Requests / Baptism Look Up Please - Felsted

Hi

I am trying to prove out a relative, and need to try and prove a link between William Holmes b. abt 1804 in Felsted to Jonathan Holmes b. abt 1873  also in Felsted.  Could also do with knowing who his mum was.

Is anyone able to look up any baptism records or any other info about these guys that would help.

I cannot use seax apparently til i go down and get some card or other sorted and have no fiche.....

Hope someone can help me.

Hi All

I am struggling to find birth and census details for my Great Nana Kathleen Smith b. appx 1873 in Ponders End, Middlesex.  (I have this from the 1911 census details)

I have her father as being Frederick Smith, who was deceased by the time she married in 1896.  (I have her marriage cert to George Edward Holmes)

Is anyone able to help me with this - I seem to be hitting brick walls.

At the time of her marriage in 1896 Kathleen lives at Nelson Road, Ponders End.

All help appreciated.

Hi There

Can anyone give me some help?

Albert Smith b. abt 1890 was my Great Grandfather, and I am really struggling find find further info about him - here's what I have:

He married Hannah Clark on 24th August 1912 at St Mary the Virgin Church in Reading when he was 22.

In October 1917 when my Grandfather Albert was born, he was a Private in the Royal Field Artillery. 

The family lived in Reading and Hannah remained there, she remarried in December 1921 so maybe Albert died between his youngest son being born and this date?

I really would like to find out more about this man and his parents etc...  I keep trying different avenues but its such a common name - can anyone make any suggestions?

Would really appreciate it.

I am trying to trace further detail of walter henry holmes who was born in london in 1914 and lived in romford for some years.  i cannot find any details of his death - although i imagine he is probably no longer with us!  Am also struggling to find his wife winifred gladys (nee smith) b.1918  can anyone help as it is doing my head in!  >:(

Hi Folks
Wonder if anyone can help me with this mystery.
I have a Great Uncle Walter Henry Holmes b1914 in Middlesex (Edmonton I think).  He married a lady called Winnie and I think they had children called Colin and Susan.  However, I can find no marriage record and because I am struggling with this no more detail on what happened to this part of our family.  They kept themselves mostly apart so details are scant!!!  Walters Dad was George Edward (or Edward George depending) Holmes and his mum was Kathleen Cheney Smith.
For some reason, Ancestry is not playing when i try and find Walters marriage or death deatails!!! 

Any help much appreciated.
